It all depends on the size of the rented hall. For small areas, 20 paintings are enough, and for larger rooms, 40 paintings may be required. In large galleries, you can find space for 60-70 paintings.
If there are not enough paintings, you can either choose a smaller place (for example, libraries and cultural centers are very willing to host exhibitions of local artists), or team up with other artists who draw in a similar technique.
Sometimes, of course, one painting is enough for an exhibition. But it should already be a Picture from a famous artist and with a story.
