According to some sources, this phrase first appeared in the lyrics of the Matthew Good Band. But the meme, which translates as “the contrived problems of people with high levels of wealth,” gained popularity after 2010, when many comedians and bloggers adopted it and began producing posts and speeches about ” the problems of white people and the First World.”
