There are changes, more or less global, in the state of human society. In all spheres – both economic and technical, biological/medical and ethical. Whether to call it “progress” or not is a matter of point of view. Progress is the consistent movement of a person/group of people/society/humanity towards some goal (usually a good one). If you believe that the development of humanity in this or that area is going in the right direction, then there is progress, if in the wrong direction or stagnates, then there is no progress. From your point of view.

There is a fairly widespread view that the development of science and technology is a good thing. From this point of view, humanity (well, or rather European civilization) in the last 200-300 years has very weak scientific and technological progress. On the other hand, it can be considered that this is not very good or even bad. Then it will not be progress, but a movement towards death, for example.

That is, it all depends on the observer's point of view. An objective fact is changes in the life of society/humanity, and whether they are progress or not is a value judgment, which is always highly subjective.

There is an accumulation of knowledge, improvement of equipment and technologies. This means that there is scientific and technological progress.

Social relations are changing, society is becoming more complex, and public protection of the role and rights of the individual is growing. This means that there is social progress.

Can progress be replaced by regression? Yes, such episodes have often occurred in history and often led to the decline or death of a particular civilization or several civilizations. The fact that humanity as a whole has overcome these episodes is not a guarantee for the future.
