Our psyche has many adaptive mechanisms that grow from animals. One of them is to save energy in desperate situations. Animals, when it seems that there is no escape, just freeze, hoping for the best. If you're lucky , the saved energy will be useful to take advantage of the chance to get out. If I wasn't lucky, I didn't have to do much digging. Because humans are self-aware, we also have a conscious response. The part of your psyche that is responsible for it begins to create motivation to lie down and do nothing. The most effective thoughts are that you are a nonentity, that life has no meaning, that everything is in vain and in vain. This mechanism should stop working when the situation has changed. If it breaks down – and we are much more complex than animals and our psyche is more fragile-then despite the fact that the relevance in saving energy has disappeared, the motive continues to unwind. This is depression – depression, apathy and low self-esteem, inadequate to the circumstances.
Decisions that have not been made accumulate.
Depression is a consequence of systematic avoidance of the choice of action (decision-making) due to information overload of the brain with large amounts of inapplicable and fragmentary information. “Indigestion” of the brain, figuratively speaking.
Physiological causes – the inability of the brain to process information due to lack of nutrition due to the following possible causes.
Depression
Depression is the most common mental disorder in the world. This is a disaster that can happen to anyone. Everyone has a bad mood due to unpleasant events. But if the depressed state continues for more than two weeks, regardless of what is happening around you, it is depression. A mental disorder that literally drains the victim of strength, energy and the ability to enjoy life.
Depression can be a reaction to tragic events, or it can be a congenital disorder of the brain's biochemistry. In the latter case, it begins without any external causes at all, passes and returns again and again.
The severity and duration of such recessions vary greatly: from a few weeks of apathy to months of seclusion, when there is no strength even to get out of bed and wash. Depression significantly increases the risk of suicide. It is important to understand that during an attack, the patient's perception is distorted, and ordinary situations such as dismissal or separation may seem hopeless to him.
Antidepressants are prescribed to even out the imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain. Contrary to the myths, they do not cause euphoria and do not lead to addiction. In most cases, it is enough to drink one or two courses to survive the crisis. However, in the case of a serious illness-recurrent depressive disorder-you will have to take them for years.
