  1. Yes, gender equality is important and I would add that all the same, taking into account the difference in physiology. Is it achievable? The issue is currently controversial, there are still kinks in both directions in all countries of the world

  2. Gender equality? If we are talking about equal opportunities, then it is quite possible.

Anyone can go to school, get a profession, work, and so on. No one can prohibit you from studying, getting a profession, or working somewhere based on your gender.

That is, to some extent, we have gender equality.

But in fact, there are areas where it is impossible to work precisely because of gender. For example, I've never heard of women working in coal mines.

Why is this the case? Yes, if only because men and women simply have a different body structure, a muscular apparatus.

Therefore, we should not talk about gender equality, but about reasonableness.

  3. Gender equality is certainly an important element of the perception of the world. However, absolute mutual respect is currently impossible to achieve. Why is this important?
Here it is worth starting from the ideas that ” a person does not choose gender at birth.” This is sad, because some people feel that it would be better to live in a different body. Of course, the case can be corrected by operations, but this is an intervention in the body, and can lead to terrible consequences. You play Russian roulette, but it's better not to.
Gender equality makes life easier for many. Some professions are impossible to work in because of stereotypes, and if there was mutual respect, this problem would quickly go away.

Separately, I want to say about the service. During the Second World War, any force (whether female or male) was needed to protect the Motherland. Many people say that girls do not want to serve at all. It all depends on your upbringing. Most people were built on the principle of “women for the family, men for work”, and if from the very appearance of the first person people would have been accustomed to equality, then perhaps many discoveries would have already been made)

It seems to me that it is now better to instill ideas about equality in people on the sly. Mutual respect will not appear quickly. It's like evolution: it will take some time, but I hope that society will be much better in the future.

  4. Depends on the definition.

If gender equality implies that society will give people equal opportunities to exercise their abilities, then yes. This will significantly increase the productivity of society and create twice as many benefits.

If gender equality implies forced equalization by quotas and rejecting people based solely on gender, in order to maintain an equal number of employees of both sexes, then no, such a policy is extremely harmful. The fact that employees are evaluated on the basis of gender, and not on ability, will not bring any benefit to society. On the contrary, the damage to society will be approximately equal to the damage caused by institutionalized discrimination and gender stereotypes.

  5. ABSOLUTE gender equality cannot exist in modern society. I specifically highlighted the word “absolute”. In modern society, in general, a huge pile of problems.

Well, come on, problems are problems, and we're talking about gender equality. At the moment, a man cannot give birth. Until this is changed, there can be no question of even approaching absolute gender equality. Yes, by the way, this does not mean that men should give birth – it means that progress should free women from this (to free them does not mean to deprive them of the right!).

And now, imagine: the society of the future, robots work hard, women do not give birth (in incubators everything is done on spermatozoa and eggs, most likely with genetic modification to remove various deviations, and, moreover, predisposition to diseases), but humanity… what does he do? yes, the same as 100500 years before: if the genotype is not changed artificially (and before changing behavioral norms, it's still oooo far away… and again, moral issues), then the females and males of the species will adhere to the standard behavior for their species. Yes, what kind there is-this is both on the family and on the squad…

Nevertheless, gender equality is possible in an approximation. Moreover, these are precisely the times when it seems to be beginning (just beginning) to settle down. Women have achieved all their rights (in certain countries), but even in countries where they seem to have achieved everything, this does not exempt them from catcall and other “jokes”. on the other hand, decent men can now stupidly be afraid of women (and suddenly a little something and – crunch-harassment-court). It is clear that these are extreme options.

Here, specifically in Ukraine (where I live), gender equality has not been achieved yet. Moreover, I can give 5 or even 10 arguments for the infringement of men's rights by women. But, knowing from the words of women how they have to, I will not.

BOTTOM LINE: in a modern (Western: USA, Europe, etc.) society, gender equality is quite possible, moreover, it will be more and more equal the further it goes. In the meantime, it will be chattered back and forth. Actually, that's right, donkeys and elephants have been butting heads for centuries. The absolute is unattainable (well, except in the conditions of complete cyborgization and the triumph of transhumanism).
