Not that they live by this principle at all.
Just a person-a kind of biological and social. The hierarchy is created in any groups. It can be of two types: spontaneous=gregarious=primitive=primative (from “primates”) and civilized. Spontaneous is formed wherever a civilized one is not introduced: there is no emptiness here.
The fabric of spontaneous hierarchy is humiliation.
In other words, you can determine the mutual place in such a hierarchy only through the action: I can take a banana from you, but you can't take a banana from me. I can scold you, but you don't dare scold me. I can kick you, but you can't kick me.
Hence the famous “don't touch mine” – this is not exactly the thug principle: it is the principle of spontaneous hierarchy in general.
Spontaneous hierarchy – hazing in the army, a zone, often a school, and often labor collectives.
Hence, by the way, the difficulties of a novice in such communities: not that there are villains around, there is simply no other way to understand his place in the hierarchy, except to try to humiliate and see his reaction.
However, when the hierarchy is built up, there is no need for active humiliation. If, against the background of the hierarchy built up in the group, active actions to humiliate continue, this is less often an individual pathology (personal tendencies to sadism), and much more often manifestations of uncertainty in one's own status or a drop in aggression (there is pressure from above, but no one dares to answer up).
The fabric of a civilized hierarchy is an assignment. In whose favor the preponderance of orders given and executed is higher in fact.
Often in practice, the hierarchy is mixed, as in the same army team: signs of both a civilized hierarchy (Charter) and a spontaneous one (hazing, fraternity).
This is a very attractive scenario. Having secretly decided to make a social experiment for myself, I went to a military-patriotic camp, and immediately got into a company with a very clear hierarchy, made up the alfacha party, got used to the role of cool chikuli and began to observe what was happening. I must say right away that these guys were rural, 15-16 years old. Their jokes were very primitive, but of course I didn't show it. Of course, there was omezhka, on whom the main stream of humiliation was poured, but at the same time he was also part of the company (the part on which the hierarchy was based). And alfach, by the way, was in the camp for the first time, just like me, but at the same time he could do it from the first day:
1).Put in the place of any person from the squad, yell, humiliate, etc.
2). Get acquainted with any person, and immediately start communicating with them, as with an old acquaintance.
3). Take responsibility in a critical situation.
People live by the principle of “humiliate and rule”, because it is interesting, exciting, and the person who at least once experiences this in full, will want to repeat the performance))) 0)
And the experience gained will betray unrealistic self-confidence. And this is not comparable to anything.
Live forever and learn forever, you're a good girl, keep observing and analyzing. Your life experience will become richer over time, and your education will push the boundaries of ability and depth of perception. And as a result, it is much more interesting and exciting to get answers to your questions with your own head and, most importantly, in your own time. This is akin to the creative process! Good luck to you.
Not all people are like that. Usually, people who live by the principle of “Humiliate and rule” are very “primitive”(stupid), they are essentially uneducated representatives of the working class, who depend only on their instincts. “Humiliate” – TO SHOW that they are stronger, “Dominate” – the desire to dominate.
Such people are easy to manage and manipulate – in our society, such people are ONLY workers.
