reality is the opposite of illusion. Illusion = delusion. Reality= Truth. This is all that relates to Christ:
12 Again Jesus spoke to the people and said to them, ” I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
(John 8: 12)
Absolutely exists. But reality does not mean only what can be investigated by available methods. For example, dark matter and energy are and were a reality before discovery. Some scientists say that humanity still knows almost nothing about the world around them. But this unknown is also a reality.
The reality is also the presence of the Creator and His large family of invisible creatures. Although it is physically difficult to understand this now, there are two ways to comprehend this reality. The first method is the Bible. This book contains the basic information that our world is created, real, and not a virtual game of unknown forces. The second method is to investigate what has been created. Creation also shows that reality is beautiful, majestic, and edible in the end. The food we eat is a gift to people. So reality”needs to be understood” (I agree with Nikolai Ivankov here), but not to limit knowledge to theories that do not explain anything.
Any judgment we make about reality will be subjective. Any definitions of reality that we can give will be relative. At the same time, reality is a philosophical category, science cannot deal with reality, only with some of its individual manifestations, such as, for example, physical or social reality.
Eastern philosophies (for example, Vedanta) consider such a concept as “Absolute Reality”. It explains that “everyday” reality is relative and temporary. The term “illusory”is also used. Matter is in a state of constant transformation, there is nothing eternal, permanent. Even some subtle manifestations of matter that we can't see, hear, or touch – psychic energy, electromagnetic waves, and so on. Atoms and molecules also decay, even if their decay time is very long.
Absolute reality has opposite properties. In the philosophical sense, Absolute reality is never confused with relative reality, it is eternal and unchangeable. It is not knowable by any material means and cannot be discovered. It is impossible to imagine or invent it. It is possible to get in touch with it only through certain spiritual practices (karma yoga, jnana yoga and bhakti yoga) and personal spiritual experience. Here it is necessary to make a reservation that all kinds of channeling and magic do not come into contact with this reality.
Exists.
Let's look at one of the most popular examples of refuting the reality of what is happening. In this thread, it was voiced by Vasilisa: “… there is no scientific way to prove that we are not part of a computer simulation.”
The thesis. We are part of a computer program. Conclusion : we don't live in the real world. Tell me, is the world in which this program was created real?
If it is unreal, then the computer program is unreal. In other words, this computer program does not exist. And we live in the only possible world (and whether you call it reality or illusion, it doesn't matter at all. These are just our own terms). If it is real, then everything that is created in this world is part of reality. And we, again, live in the only possible reality.
Note: reality is understood here as a fundamental condition of existence. The multiplicity of such conditions is denied.
P.S. Proving the existence of reality itself is even easier. Since the definition of reality is tied to what really exists, then reality exists by definition.
As Archimedes said: “Give me a foothold and I'll turn the Earth upside down!” Give a definition of “reality”, a definition of “existence” – and then we will argue.
However, I can say from experience that these arguments will not lead us anywhere. Philosophers have written megatons of papers on this topic, but they have not come to a common denominator. And they won't come, because the bad philosopher is the one who hasn't invented his own philosophy and doesn't look at everyone else as, let's say, deluded. And, by the way, it is impossible to refute Solipsism.
You don't need to talk about reality, sorry, don't philosophize. It must be understood. Moreover, there are already suitable methods. For example, at the popular level, they are described in detailhereRoger Penrose, one of the greatest mathematicians and popularizers of the XX-XXI centuries, teacher and colleague of Stephen Hawking.
