The law of identity states that any thought, any reasoning, will necessarily be equal, i.e. identical, to itself. Simply put, it should be clear, simple, precise, and defined. In other words, this law prohibits confusing and substituting concepts in reasoning, i.e. using the same word in different meanings or putting different words in the same meaning, creating ambiguity, evading the topic, and so on
