I've seen somewhere that if the probability of failure is 90% or more, it dramatically reduces motivation.
Of course, everything is individual. For example, according to Atkinson, people with the motivation to avoid failure (like me)) they are more likely to take on tasks that are a) easy, b) very difficult. They (us) in option b) are not so ashamed to embarrass themselves-to fail, than in tasks of medium difficulty. Those are taken just more willingly by people with the motivation of achievement.
Well, outside of all models and categories, we are very different.
But still, seriously striving through all obstacles to the impossible is rather a rarity among people.
It's so harmless to yearn-moan-howl about the impossible-it's easy, it's quite common. But there is something else: to suffer on the couch about a distant ideal object is just a kind of psychological defense against a collision with some reality. Well, in order not to do anything special for some really achievable arrangement of life, and to have an excuse: here, I dream of great things and do not agree to less, leave me alone.
Well, situations like the witty maxim of a drunken Yankovsky in a puddle, when he utters in Russian to an Italian girl in “Nostalgia”: an inaccurate quote – ” An unexpressed feeling is not forgotten. Unhappy love is the strongest.” However, this is about the same thing: some broken relationships are idealized when real ones are not able to build and/or are afraid.
If he agrees, then the opposite is true.
My opinion on this issue is neutral.
Imagine a beautiful woman standing in front of you. Her skin is softer than silk, and her lips are like the gateway to paradise, but she is not available to you and at this moment you seem to be moving away from her by a thousand steps. You long to touch her, to feel the warmth of her body, the taste of her lips. But she's moving further away from you. Increasingly, it seems inaccessible.
Before you can be any object desired by you, but it all depends on you, as well as on faith, whether you need your desired miracle.
Not exactly. If we want something, we probably don't have it at the moment. But we certainly hope to find it. There is something generally inaccessible, really inaccessible, for example, to fly to the moon. But we don't really dream about it. As a rule, all our goals and desires are quite real, quite accessible and do not go into the realm of fiction. :- ))) Therefore, I would not say that we always dream of the inaccessible. :-))) Although there are very complex dreams, they are also quite affordable. We are still aware of what can never happen in principle, what is unreal and what is still real.
