Atheism today usually means the denial of some — unknown-fantastic creatures. Although in reality, atheism is a refusal to deify anyone. For the ancient Egyptians, the Pharaohs were gods. Atheists do not deny the existence of Egyptian pharaohs. But they refuse to deify the rulers, that is, to endow them with the qualities of the arbiters of our destiny, to whom we must serve and devote our lives. It is the same with the elements of nature and so on.
Faith today usually means the volitional postulation of something with which we cannot interact in any way. Although in reality faith is trusting in a particular object of worship that has already revealed itself to us in some experience, sometimes mysterious, it is entrusting your life to it in the confidence that it will not deceive and will reward the worship with a happy fate.
Accordingly, the atheist does not entrust his fate to anyone, and therefore there is no one to believe him. Unless, of course, he deifies himself or something like nature, evolution, humanity, scientific and technological progress and the like. In this case, he believes them, or, what is the same thing, believes in them — in himself, in nature, in progresss. Then, however, he will no longer be an atheist. Well, we have a lot of such good stuff these days: “gods” who are really just superheroes from comics, and “atheists” who are really just loyal and devoted fans of some forces-any, if only not the Original Source of all inspiration.
Because poverty is not about being rich with missing money, and abstinence is not about not having sex.
Similarly, atheism is not a belief that there is no God, but a lack of faith that there is a God.
This is at a basic level.
If you are concerned with formalities and pickiness, then you must first give an accurate definition of faith and an accurate definition of atheism. And already on their basis to conduct a conversation.
Atheism is the absence of faith in God (s), which means denying his (their) existence. But from a philosophical point of view, atheism is also a faith in its own way. Belief in the absence of gods and belief in the power of man, his independence from religion. Atheists recognize the primacy of man in the hierarchy of the universe, and natural evolution is the only engine for the development of the world. But the human psyche is designed in such a way that in any case it needs to believe in something and it will look for the source of its faith and create cults: communism, capitalism, money, etc. In the USSR, many denied the existence of God, but this did not prevent them from believing in bright communism, in the Central Committee of the CPSU and Lenin. They created a new cult, which led to the creation of a new religion.
Strictly according to the meaning of the words!
Atheism – refusal to accept any statements without proof and justification.
Faith is the acceptance of certain statements without any proof.
Atheism is not faith, baldness is not a hairstyle!
And don't confuse the lack of faith and gods with fighting with the gods. Atheism is not antitheism!
Because atheism doesn't claim anything. Atheism doesn't even deny faith. Do you believe in a certain religion and what?! If your faith does not affect the atheist in any way, then he does not care about it at all.
Stop running around with this “I believe – I don't believe”thing. Science, scientific methodology uses a two-stage scheme of cognition. At the first stage, a scientist who wants to answer an existing question evaluates the state of knowledge of both this question and all those who are nearby. At the same time, it performs a logical analysis of the problem and, after synthesizing all the preliminary information, builds a HYPOTHESIS, that is, the most likely answer to the question posed. Then this scientist and all others who have become familiar with the hypothesis and decided to seek its confirmation or refutation, conduct research, experimental and analytical activities in accordance with their own understanding. When obtaining FACTS confirming the hypothesis, analyzing and evaluating them, they form a THEORY describing the phenomenon under study. When you receive facts that refute the hypothesis, or in the complete absence of any facts (especially confirming ones), the hypothesis is rejected or relegated to the background – let them continue to search for supporting facts, they say. Well, that's it. Darwin's theory of evolution is fully supported by numerous paleontological facts, and now by paleogenetic studies. Why is atheism not a faith? Yes, because it is impossible to put all the hypotheses put forward by scientists into the category of faith. All scientific hypotheses are developed on the basis of a whole set of ideas about the subject, phenomenon or process being studied. And the hypothesis of the existence of a supernatural god comes out of the ancient “holy scriptures” and is not subject to any critical research. Believers BELIEVE in this hypothesis and they agree with this characteristic of their worldview. Here and there there are “proofs” of the existence of God, but even with a cursory analysis, they do not go beyond the usual sophistry. But if believers want to consider the beliefs of atheists as faith, then so be it. To us (atheists)it doesn't matter.
The juxtaposition of faith and atheism is so deeply “embedded” in the human consciousness that it has fundamentally ceased to interest true believers and true atheists.
Only the Nouveau riche of faith and the nouveau riche of atheism continue to cross the spears of worthlessness.
Perhaps, one day, both of them will be disgusted by the antagonism, and they will begin to calmly relate to the fact that some believe and others do not believe in God.
Materialistic atheists say: “The human mind is the highest manifestation of matter in the universe.
This is what we were taught in secondary schools in the USSR. This was the training program…
What's not faith? The belief, which is absolutely groundless, unprovable and not reasoned, that there is no other reality in our world than the physical one.
… the person who saw the event is a witness.
.. he who hears from a witness and accepts the story as true is a believer.
.. he who has heard from a witness and does not accept the story as the truth is not a believer.
.. atheist-denies God, therefore does not believe, otherwise to say believes that there is no God, means a believer only with a negative particle, you can convincingly say that this is a negative believer.
.. Thus, denying happiness in God denies it.
What do we mean by faith?
Starting with shamanism, faith consisted of theory (there is something invisible and intangible that has power) and was supported by practice, usually related to the treatment of diseases, physical or mental (faith without works is dead).
All faiths are based on the authority of a prophet of one or many. Like Mormons or Buddhists.
And faith always implies the presence of a close-knit group of followers, united at least by common rules or views on the way of life.
In atheism, there has never been a theory that unites them, nor any practiceenefits
ituals, nor any association of atheists with each other.
As one of the “prophets” used to say – all successful (happy) faiths live together and equally, and all atheistic individuals – each exists in his own way and alone.
Every atheist is in some way his own prophet.
Yes, we, non-believers and non-spiritual people, do not care what we are called, what religion we belong to or not to belong to. This does not change the essence in any way. This is the millet form, not the essence
There is no such person in the world who does not believe in anything, it is impossible. Faith is the foundation of any action or practice. You go to university because you believe that you will finish your studies and get a degree (which is far from a fact). You want to finish your studies and get a degree, because you believe that this will help you find a job and succeed (which is also far from a fact). You get married or get married because you believe in a happy family life (which is also far from a fact). If you didn't believe in all this, you wouldn't be studying or getting married, getting a job, or doing a lot of other things, because you wouldn't have the incentive.
What do believers and atheists have in common? Both are looking for maximum self-fulfillment, which is expressed in happiness, but they do it in different places. The atheist or materialist seeks happiness in material life, the believer in spiritual life. This is the basis of faith, not whether God exists or does not exist. I believe that my happiness is in God (objectively impossible to prove), an atheist believes that his happiness is in money, education, career, power, relationships, marriage, children, etc. (objectively impossible to prove). So why does an atheist consider me a believer and not himself?
For me, everything is faith. Even knowledge that has been objectively established and practically verified a million times can only be applied if the person applying it believes that it has been objectively established, practically verified a million times, and is knowledge at all. Otherwise, he will simply not be able to apply it, because he will refuse to do so. For example, if I don't believe that bitcoins can be used to make money, I won't invest in them anyway. Even if every person on earth earns something on bitcoins, I can easily “rest my horns” and continue to disbelieve in the possibility of such earnings, and this disbelief will cause me to not be able to use the knowledge that billions of people have already used. So even knowledge is useless without faith in knowledge.
The answer is that atheism is a worldview that denies in the picture of the Creator's Existence, the Higher Mind, the mystical and otherworldly, and therefore, by definition, opposes itself to worldviews based on such beliefs. On the other hand, there is no definiteness in the concept of faith in this issue. Faith, as acceptance and as the basis of any rational activity, cannot be opposed to any worldview. Such a belief, for example, is the basis for accepting one's own worldview and beliefs, theories, postulates or axioms, which are the starting points for any reasoning. In the exact sciences, for example, there is a category of constants, infinities taken as a basis. Similarly, in existential matters, we have our own “constant”, the basis, the ground under our feet, and so we are arranged. And this basis is our faith, even if we do not recognize it in ourselves, and if it is not God, but something else, and we call ourselves atheists.
Because an atheist DOESN'T BELIEVE there is a God. This is not the same as BELIEVING that there is no God, or that there is one. In the first case, rational doubt kills faith, in the second, irrational faith.
This is the belief in the” non-existence “of the gods, hence the name “a-theism”, that is,”denial of the gods”. In particular, it is a belief in the “materiality of even the gods”. If a sincere atheist is put face to face with an ordinary demon, he will decide after a shock that the demons are a product of evolution or aliens from other worlds. But they are definitely material, just like people.
But that's not the main thing. Science, in principle, cannot prove the “non-existence” of something, unless it builds a chain from the “existence of the opposite”. For example, you can't prove scientifically that you've never been to Antarctica unless you show proof that you've always been elsewhere. And how can we prove the “non-existence” of God?
Therefore, atheism has nothing to do with science, it is a person's faith.
I know a lot of sensible intellectuals, but none of them believe in this manipulative, ignorant human consciousness of God!
There is faith – you don't need to be smart, ” Nevzorov said.
What difference does it make – he is not a faith or something else; the main thing is that there is a test for reasonableness and sanity – for me it works like this: a believer-I distance myself and will not communicate anymore.
And by and large, you can come up with any mythical creature that controls the world and argue hoarsely that its ways are inscrutable and it is eternal and powerful. Believers are stuck in a teenage state of consciousness, and I think they solve their inner neuroses with the help of faith. Let yourself, everyone finds a way out of internal problems as you want – but to impose this nonsense on everyone? That's what's bad!
Faith is a touch of the highest. The atheist does not get it, he believes only in what he sees.
Through this touch, the believer receives both support and support in life and death situations. And an atheist believes only in what he sees, and therefore, situations of death completely destroy his picture of the world.
Only when you are touched can you choose whether to believe or not. In most cases, people are engaged in empty-mindedness (you think that you believe, but there is no higher touch), this is fooling. And there are as many dupes of science as there are of religion.
Because there is theism… and this is also not a belief. Atheism is an antonym and counter-condition to theism.
They say that it is impossible to prove that God exists and that he does not exist. It is obvious that people simply have to take either one or the other position for different reasons and act in life taking into account the decision made. The average is not given.
Theists say that this duality in the world is due to God's unwillingness to force Himself on everyone…
The same belief, and a rather absurd one at that, that there are laws of nature, but there is no legislator. Religions, however, involve believing not only that there is a God, but also a whole host of other, often absurd claims.
Atheism is faith, but faith is not in God the creator, but in science, and atheism has its own places of worship “temples of science”.
In general, our ancestors did not treat life as “do you believe or do not believe in God”, this is in the West in Europe, you definitely need to decide on this. Yes, and god or gods, our ancestors considered the power of nature. The creator was considered mom and Dad, who created you in their own image and likeness.
Science provides a comfortable life for the body, and faith, now a religion, should provide a spiritual life.
Because atheism is proven in contrast to what you wrote. Faith implies blindly unconsciously following something, and atheism is a proven theorem. Atheism is the true humility of a person with himself, but Faith is demonic possession-the result of slavery. Faith appeared among slaves who could not achieve freedom because they looked up to capitalism, not to their nature.
Atheism is not a belief in something divine. They don't believe in any fantastic substances. Faith now means something completely different from the times, for example, ten years ago.
Because atheists can't understand the difference between an animal and a human. And anyone who understands the difference between an animal and a human immediately understands that such an evolution cannot happen. An animal cannot bring suffering to another, considering that it will benefit the other, but a person can!
This question can probably only be answered by an atheist who believed in God at a conscious age. I deliberately used the figure “believed in God”, because true faith implies not only faith in the existence of God, but also faith in God Himself, the clear fulfillment of his law. This is important to understand because between a person who believes that God does not exist (for obvious reasons, he cannot know for sure), and a person who believes God, there are still a lot of people who have God in their soul, who believe that something-is-there, who have read all sorts of mysticism and esotericism, and so on.
However, the conclusion suggests itself: everyone believes in something, and the one who proudly calls himself an atheist, unfortunately, also believes. Often being orthodox in their faith – it is also an extreme case. This means that atheism is also essentially a faith.
Atheism is faith. The usual atheistic faith.
The world exists, and the attitude to its cause determines a person's faith.
A person who believes in God does not know the cause of the world, but believes that the world was created by a Higher Mind, i.e., a believer believes in Reason.
The atheist also does not know the reason for the appearance of the world, but believes that the world has created itself out of nothing, i.e. believes in a Miracle.
But, here atheists have a cognitive atheistic problem.
An atheist cannot prove the self-creation of the world, which defines his statement about self-creation as faith, but he cannot recognize himself as a believer either, which creates atheistic cognitive dissonance.
Because atheists don't believe. Because atheists do not have an object of faith. Atheists do not have their own cult, their own cult holidays, and so on. By the way, an atheist does not have to consider the opinion of another atheist, even a famous one, to be correct. We have no pillars of unbelief.
Atheists simply don't believe in any god or anything supernatural.
However, this is not a dogma, present normal evidence, consider. Just not proof from personal glitches, this is the brain's work.
Faith is the recognition of something as true without proof. There is no scientific evidence for the existence of God, so you can only believe in him. Atheism is not disbelief in God (or belief in his absence). This is non-recognition of God due to the lack of evidence of his existence. An atheist doesn't take anything for granted at all. There will be evidence of the existence of God – then please.
The atheist lives his life without hoping to see any god, sins moderately without thinking about it, and tries to live in this world, because he knows that there is no” that ” life. The believer exists ( it exists, not lives) with the hope that God will send at least some sign of his existence. He is afraid to sin,but nevertheless, he sins no less than an atheist. You can write a lot of things for comparison, but you are too lazy. Essentially: an atheist is not bound to believe or disbelieve in God or gods. Denies the existence of otherworldly forces, but does not have to possess any scientific knowledge. If atheism were a faith, then the very word atheism would have to be changed to something else.
Because any faith (in the religious sense of the word) contains a statement like ” something supernatural exists and deserves to be worshipped.” Atheism, on the other hand, does not contain such a statement; it proceeds from the negation that “something supernatural either does not exist or does not deserve to be worshipped, based on the quantity and quality of our knowledge about it.” According to the laws of logic, it is impossible to draw a qualitative conclusion from negation. Therefore, unlike any religion, with its named entities, rites, rituals, etc., atheism does not contain and does not have to contain all this. There is no dogma in atheism — for example, the dogma “there is no God” is not at all necessary for an atheist, since any god exists, for example, in the form of a cultural phenomenon. An atheist can easily discuss the details of the Sistine frescoes or the relationship between Apollo and Hyacinth, using the appropriate mythological tradition. Nor does an atheist have to “believe in science” — rather, on the contrary, the ignorance of atheists often corresponds to the ignorance of religious obscurantists. The most ridiculous thing is that an atheist is not even obliged to deny the possibility of, for example, intelligent creation-he just does not proceed from the “divinity”, the transcendence of this act. In general, atheism is not a faith, just because an atheist does not owe anything to anyone in matters of faith. It's just a lack of faith in God/gods/fate/supernatural powers. And everything.
Atheism is a worldview based on science and, above all, on materialistic philosophy. Faith in relation to atheism, including religion, paganism, Freemasonry, etc., is only an object for studying erroneous views, for example, about the afterlife. Atheism can be called a science, but faith (religion) – in no case. Faith is much closer to fairy tales, epics. primitive and simple tales on moral and ethical topics. “You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant…”
A person takes any scientific knowledge on faith, including the fact that this scientific fact can be verified experimentally. We just take it on faith.
Atheists, and many believers, do not have the right idea of what God is. This concept is reduced to some mystical, supernatural phenomena. The priests themselves talk about anthropomorphism in the idea of God: eyes, hands, face, anger, and so on, that is, a simplified representation of God for people who are not experienced in abstract thinking.
There is nothing mystical, supernatural, or magical about the true God (all of these are fictions of charlatans).
God is the totality of all causal relationships in the world around us and in human life.
A believer lives in a world that is permeated with regularities and excludes absolute randomness.
Religion is the very first abstract human activity in its entire history, from which sciences, philosophy, and ethics grew.
The modern mission of religion is an ethical assessment of human activity.
Because Atheism is the denial of the existence of everything supernatural.
Denial of gods, ghosts, the existence of the soul, the divine origin of people [kings of nature].
Negation of everything that is not proven by science.
Denial can't be faith, just as a girl's” no “doesn't mean” yes ” if that's what I want. ☹️
A person can call himself Orthodox or a follower of another denomination, but at the same time believe in God… don't believe it! Thus, according to surveys (and studies by the Russian Academy of Sciences of religious views have been going on for more than 20 years), among followers of Orthodoxy, 72% believe in God. For all other religions (Islam, Judaism, Catholicism, Buddhism), the figures are approximately the same. How can this be? Can. Moreover, this “gap” of a quarter of all respondents has been maintained for quite a long time. For a modern person to say “I am Orthodox” or “I am a Muslim” does not always automatically mean ” to believe in God.” By identifying themselves as members of a particular denomination, they may mean adherence to its traditions, ethnic identity, or association with a group of like-minded people, “their own” (as opposed to “these others”). After all, religion today performs a consolidating function. In the context of blurred political and civil forms of solidarity, it somehow holds our society together.
In fact, this is more a matter of terminology.
Theism traditionally includes Judaism, Christianity, and Islam
A-Theism = NON-Theism
that is all other NON Abrahamic denominations fall under the concept of Atheism
Who says it's not faith ??? The most natural belief is that there is no God… And peremptory and baseless… I would even say that if a real atheist were to suddenly become a believer in God and remain as enthusiastic about his reincarnation, he would achieve greater success and speed than the average believer…
The word faith is somehow not clearly used. Faith means faith and that's it. What you believe in, or who cares. A person without faith simply cannot live. And every day believes 100 times a day or trusts. Getting a job believes that he will be paid buying groceries believes that they are fresh and good getting behind the wheel believes that he will get there safely and SO on. You can't live without faith. But the fact that he doesn't believe in God is another matter. Well, most people still believe in fate, horoscope, omens, and SO on.
Because, in principle, they always prove the PRESENCE of something, because the absence of something in the entire universe is virtually impossible to prove. You can only prove the absence of something in a very limited space and time. For example, a person in a room, but not a God in the universe.
Therefore, the burden of proof is on whoever claims there is a God/gods. And atheists simply consider the evidence that is provided to be insufficient and, accordingly, do not consider it necessary to change their words, behavior, or thoughts based on the premise of the existence of higher forces.
Moreover, the problem in principle does not lie in the plane of whether there is a God or not. What difference does it make if it exists or not?
What matters is whether he wants a certain behavior from people and, if so, what kind of behavior he wants. There are at least 1,000 religions on Earth. And they all say that it is their religion that is right, and if you choose the wrong religion, then there is no sense in the fact that you believe in God in principle:)
That is, it is necessary to prove not only the existence of God, but also that he requires the fulfillment of such commandments, and not others.
And why would an adequate person fulfill the commandments, which are not the fact that it is necessary to fulfill at all?:)
By the fact that the word itself, or logos…and the very concept of Atheism…they are diametrically opposed to Faith! It also implies the opposition of a person to God!
Why do they not see the obvious things?, and continue to trash this topic. Think about it, because we live in a world where there is dualism (after the knowledge of good and evil) for this reason, faith will always be accompanied by disbelief. This is like a plus and a minus ,like two sides of the same coin. For this reason, Christianity says that God is threefold and eternal life is possible only outside of division.
Atheism is not a belief, it is a vision of the world.
Atheism denies the existence of God and supernatural forces; it looks logically and rationally at the evolution of the world and the universe.
Atheism, in principle, is also a faith. Agnosticism ( ignorance ) is not faith. But I would answer this essentially: God doesn't impose himself on anyone, believe it or not. If you believe that he exists, then he will be with you, if you do not believe in him, then he will not be for you, but only for you personally, but then do not charge, if he is hot, he will not help you either)). So in fact.
I will immediately make a reservation that we will talk about the word “atheism”.
So.
Because this is reflected in its very name – the prefix ” A ” just speaks of negation. I.e., the word itself carries a negating meaning and meaning. And “faith” is a positive concept, in the sense that it does not imply “denial of something”, but on the contrary-“the presence of something”, in this case – just that very faith. A God, several gods, or something or someone else, it doesn't matter. You can believe in communism, people, love, discworld, justice, the theory of evolution, the Big Bang theory, the placebo effect, higher intelligence, world peace and friendship of peoples. The essence is in the positivism of the very concept of “faith”. It assumes the” presence ” of the attribute. And all words with the prefix ” A ” – on the contrary-assume the absence of a sign. And that's it! There are no sacred meanings here. Exclusively – logic and knowledge of ancient languages! 🙂
By the way, you can also believe that there is no God. It is on this apparent paradox that those who say that ” Everyone believes! “Some believe that there is a God, others that there is no God!”
But whether such a belief will be “atheism”is another question.
For here we are no longer talking about the word “atheism”, but about the essence of the phenomenon of denial of divinity. And, automatically assuming for other people some “points of reference”, which, supposedly, are “taken for granted” in the discussion – nothing more than a”substitution of the thesis”. In other words – sophistry. Thus, you can “prove” anything – there would be a desire. But it is unlikely to achieve any truth or even mutual understanding.
However, continuing to study the topic, we can assume that, no matter how strange it may sound, but- “YES”! – the belief that there is no God will still be atheism. Presumably. Because, it implies a sign-denial of the divine. Which is the main criterion, in fact, of “atheism”.
And so we miraculously came to the strange (at first glance) conclusion that “atheism” as a phenomenon (and not as a word!) maybe in one case NOT to be a faith, and in another-to be it! Which, mind you! – does not make it “less atheistic”. And it does not imply any internal contradiction – since in these two cases, obviously, we are talking about different atheisms.
In one case, the atheist “doesn't believe in God.” At the same time, the very fact that this very atheist has something to believe in in the worldview, i.e., that very “God”, is absent.
And in another – about the one in which an atheist “believes that there is no God.” But at the same time, the fact that there is such an atheist in the picture of the world, in the presence or absence of which you can believe, still takes place. And the above paradoxical thesis that “Everyone believes…” and so on is applicable, therefore, exclusively to this type of atheist. Which indirectly hints to us that these atheists are not quite real, since faith is still present in their worldview.
And, strange as it may sound – but NO! These are ALSO real atheists! Simply because the paradigm of atheism does not say anywhere that atheism denies FAITH itself. And even the word “a-theism” emphasizes the denial of divinity, not of faith. So that… If someone automatically under the word and concept of “faith” naively meant exclusively “faith in God”, and under the word and concept of “atheism” – exclusively “denial of faith”, then he was very mistaken. Faith, like atheism, is different. As shown above.
It's a bit complicated, don't you think?.. :)))
If atheists believe that there is no God and try to prove it ,isn't that a religion ??? They believe it too!!! And any religion is based on faith…so they are the same believers as the majority of believers who do not know God…. they believe in the one whom they do not know, and whom they know they do not believe, but THEY KNOW …it's crazy to believe in someone you know !!!
Atheism is the belief that the universe, matter, space, etc. could have accidentally emerged from nothing/emptiness. And yes, this is true, as science cannot confirm this at the moment due to weak scientific and technological development.
Any religion is the belief that the beginning of the world is perfect. Atheism, respectively, is the belief that the beginning of the world is material (which contradicts the 2nd law of thermodynamics) or that the world has no beginning (which contradicts the Big Bang theory). That is, atheism is also a belief, since it is based on postulates that are unprovable or contradict experimental data.
It is impossible to know that God does not exist, because from a scientific point of view it is impossible to know. God is not a subject of scientific study at all. Therefore, atheism is faith.
Well, at least because religion is a mechanism for managing people. Atheists don't want to control the herd, they want to make them think.
Atheism is faith. Just because an atheist believes in a person, not a fairy tale, no matter how beautiful or tempting it may be.
Atheism and Theism are beliefs derived from a person's beliefs and self-identification. If a person believes, for example , that he and his consciousness are not derived from a temporary material body (brain cells), but are an eternal soul located in a temporary body , then he will also believe in the source of his soul – the Supersoul (the Supreme Personality with Universal Consciousness). Conversely, if a person believes that he exists – his body, and consciousness does not exist apart from the temporary body, then he will be inclined to believe that the Supersoul also does not exist. Anecdote: two fetuses are sitting in the mother's womb . One person asks another : Do you believe in life after childbirth ? The other answers: No…..in any case, no one has returned from there yet.
2+2=4 Is this faith ? No.This is an obvious and proven fact . So is atheism . It is akin to this simplest arithmetic operation . And believers try to prove that 2+2= 5 or 6 or 7, depending on the chosen religion .
atheism -the belief in the absence of any love of the gods. Since it is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of God (whatever is meant by this), then nothing remains but faith in their absence for the atheist or faith in their existence for the theist.
In principle, an atheist differs from a theist by little more than nothing – a theist believes only in some gods and does not believe in all the others, an atheist does not believe in any gods (but can believe that any and however delusional ideology describes reality in the only correct way)
The Bible defines Faith:
“Faith is the fulfillment of what is expected and the assurance of what is not seen.”
(Hebrews 11: 1-Heb 11: 1)
Atheists do not believe in the invisible (the spiritual world), but walk by sight. They believe in the material world.
Therefore, they cannot be called believers in the Biblical sense.
All for the same reason. for which the grandmother is not a grandfather.
This is not a philosophical question, but a question indicating a low mental level.
Every reasonable person should understand that each word means something specific , the word atheism cannot mean the same thing as the word faith, and if it is not clear, it means that it is not reasonable enough.
Why do we live on Earth? What is the meaning of our lives?
In the history of philosophy, we know a number of unsuccessful attempts to find answers to these questions.
For example, the founders of existentialism argued that the life of each of us on Earth is just a ridiculous accident; moreover, none of us gave anyone our permission, consent — to live. They lamented this and saw only suicide as a worthy solution to this “ridiculous situation”.
They were atheists.
And many modern believers in the existence of God do not ask themselves this question at all. They… only dream of earthly well-being and escaping hell after the death of the body… and what do you have to do for this? – it turns out to participate in various “religious” rites, repent of true and imaginary sins, and also “pray”, that is, first of all, beg for “salvation” from hell — from God or from the “gods” and “saints”invented by representatives of these confessions.
And this absurdity has always been actively promoted by the priests of such religious trends. They instilled in their “flock” the idea of God — as an evil Bogeyman who only does what punishes, and therefore it is necessary to be afraid of Him! And we, they say, the priests-we are your intercessors before Him: we “pray” for you and teach you how to “pray”correctly…
Why do I call this form of pseudo-religion absurd? But because, in fact, we, according to the Will of God, should PERFECT OURSELVES (as souls) in accordance with His Teaching-and not cry out to Him about our sinfulness! And not to beg before Him for “earthly” goods — but to strive to become “perfect, even as our Heavenly Father is perfect,” in the words of Jesus Christ!
And another thing: does fear help bring someone closer to someone else? No! – love! And it is not for nothing that Jesus and all the other Divine Teachers teach us not to fear, not to hate — but to LOVE!
THERE is no DESCRIPTION OF GOD IN the entire Bible. And, accordingly, there is not even an indication of where to look for It in order to realize that very consubstantiality with It…
Part 2.
The Creator (or God the Father, Primordial Consciousness, Ishvara, Tao, Allah — and so on, no matter in which of the human languages we call Him) is the subtlest Part of the Universe, and it is the MAIN Part of It — INFINITE in size and ALWAYS existing.
I will briefly say that spatial dimensions are like floors of the Universe (also called the Absolute), which differ from each other in the levels of the roughness — subtlety scale.
The layer of the most subtle energies is God in the aspect of the Creator. It looks like an endless stretch of pure Light, similar to the light of the gentle and warm morning sun. There are no forms in it. Once in It, all forms immediately dissolve.
At the opposite end of the above — mentioned scale of subtlety — coarseness is hell-the abode of the most disgusting souls: aggressive, evil, consisting of black energies.
The task of souls (that is, including each of us) is to advance in their development to the Original Consciousness, to the Creator.
In the end, Souls who have reached Perfection flow into the Creator, enriching Him with Themselves. Having settled forever in the Abode of the Creator, now living in Fusion with Him, becoming His integral components, They continue to work, helping other evolving souls. In the world of incarnate beings, They now manifest Themselves as Representatives of the Creator, also called Holy Spirits (or, collectively, the Holy Spirit).
This is the meaning of the existence of all Creation, as well as the meaning of our existence and the existence of all beings here!
Well, the lot of those who do not go this Way, who, on the contrary, develop rudeness, malice, cruelty — their lot is hell.
What you are hearing now is not an “invention” of the speaker now. No: this is the knowledge that God has at his disposal, what the Divine Teachers — that is, the Messiahs and Holy Spirits-have always taught incarnate people and are teaching them now.
This was taught, among others, by Thoth-Atlantean (aka Hermes-Trismegistus in His next Divine Incarnation), and Pythagoras, and Krishna, and Gautama Buddha, and Jesus Christ, and the Divine Teachers of later epochs and our modern times. (This information is most fully presented in the book “Classics of Spiritual Philosophy and Modernity”).
part 3.
I will tell you about the fate of a famous scientist who was a stubborn, stubborn atheist. But he devoted his life to the Good, heroically, self-sacrificingly helping people with the highest knowledge and methods that he possessed. The premise of his atheism was that he, having the terrible brand of a Jew in Russia during the Brezhnev era, also lived here in the cruel era of” militant atheism”, and from religious concepts he was familiar only with the one that, as an intellectually highly developed person, could not satisfy him in any way.
He left his body in a feeble old age, suffering from it and realizing with heavy sadness that the “end ” was approaching.
And you can imagine how stunned he was later when he realized that there was no “end”!
Summing up his life, he said very sincerely: “After all, I have lived an honest life! I also gave my all to make people better!
He, living in Russia for those decades, suffered a lot of troubles. And of course, he could not accept the “Christianity” that managed to officially curse all Jews and has always treated them with varying degrees of hostility ever since… He endured everything humbly, never getting angry. Only marveling in silence at the savage moral primitivism that surrounds them… And he was right! His abode is now paradise!
But here is one of his closest colleagues, also a scientist and a Jew by nationality of the earth body, who did a lot in the last years of his earthly life to bring people to an understanding of the immortality of the soul, published a lot of publications on psychology, spent his life in endless fuss, made the main theme of his efforts to establish his name among other people at any cost, developed superliveness (even in the course of one conversation, he used to “lie”, exposing himself), insisted that” man is an autonomous, closed system”, who did not think of God and did not conform his life to His Being, who developed the “lower self” to the stage of “sticking out” in all directions of bright vices, who ended his earthly life from a brain disease — now, having disembodied, he is seen “distorted”, black and still deprived of rest. The hell he created for himself continues…
I say this with great sadness: this man helped so many people on Earth to start looking for true Freedom. But it turns out that he wasn't looking for her at all…
After all, a person remains in an out-of-body state exactly as he trained himself to be during his life in the body and as he was caught by the death of the body…
Why not faith? Scientific atheism does not reject either God or His absence, but treats philosophy and cosmology impartially, regardless of beliefs.Scientific atheism is professed by individual scientists and thinkers, of whom there are hardly ten thousand on the whole Earth. Those who believe in atheism as certain dogmas of Science (about which they have a vague idea), without going into any scientific justification, or based on logic and philosophy, simply believe in the fallacy of other people's beliefs. And those believing atheists-99.99% that do not reason and think, namely Believe. To begin with, the average person shares the belief inGod,Gods, and the so-called everyday-situational faith.Which is fundamentally wrong, stupid, and ignorant.Because of ignorance and misunderstanding of the Mechanism of faith.Faith is a biological mechanism. There is no difference in the faith of different people.Information accepted by a person without evidence as Valuable, and the closest to reality and objective reality, is faith. And it doesn't matter if this belief is in a yellow road schedule, in a paragraph in a textbook,or a belief in spirits. Faith is truly a gift from the Gods to man.Because it is such a steep competitive advantage that you can't help but think about being chosen by God.I'll explain it on my fingers, that is, mathematically. When did a person start storing information outside of their own head,i.e. technology transfer in absentia, not first-hand? That's right, writing, which allowed and still allows you to receive information without personal contact, then printing and libraries increased the effect, and the Internet raised the ability of a person to receive information not from another person, but simply to the zenith of technology. But before all the technological advantages, a person has gained over the ability to receive information-Faith.Let's assume that your chances of success in any unknown task are 50%. I.e. fifty-fifty, it won't work. But this is the idea.In reality, your chance of success may be as high as one millionth. For convenience, we use the 100% percentage scale. And your chance of success is 1%.There are hundreds of counter-factors and counter-factors that go against your success.Your ignorance of the situation, your inability to act in an unfamiliar situation, complete or partial lack of talent for this activity, frost, heat, wet, stuffy, loud, and generally frightening. In turn, your chances of success are increased by genetics, let's say your muscles are iron, your mom and dad were brought up smart, life was tempered, evil people taught you to be ready for anything. We will add 10% for each option.Mom-10% + muscle-10%+life-10% + evil-10%, total -40% success rate.Again, the chances of failure are higher-60%.But this is all conditional, speculative. In reality, who is so lucky that all factors are a plus?Your chances of success in an unfamiliar business are very small. the original thesis about fifty-fifty is fundamentally wrong. Then we would not need to study in schools-institutes,but quite expect to achieve as much as 50% success without spending time and effort .Why study when there is always a chance to get what you want right away without studying for 5-10-15 years? We're all learning.Psychologists and psychozoologists of the 19th and 20th centuries anthropocentricly called animal training the moronic term Learning.Well, they can't learn, they're animals, so it's learning.Although there is no difference at all, that a person, that an animal, seeing how someone is beaten, learns from experience and learns successful actions.Whether to run,or raise on the horns or on the knife. In psychology, there is a term-Reinforcement.That is, when you are convinced of the upness of a certain technology. They saw how someone escaped danger, or got a piece of meat,or a female,or some other buns as a result,Knowledge with reinforcement was fixed in the brain. And now you have a successful technology and experience. What does Faith have to do with it? At the same time. That perhaps this is the only difference between us, humans, and other animals,a super competitive advantage-Faith.This is when you are NOT Seeing, not hearing, not being present, not being in a Situation, you can get EXPERIENCE and Knowledge from another monkey,oh sorry,a person. And by accepting it as a successful action, you dramatically increase your chances of success. Not with 40% speculatively idealistic, but say with 1%, with 10-20%, abruptly and abruptly immediately +50% success rate.Faith is a biological mechanism. What does it have to do with faith in God or lack of it? Yes, all the same, in Biology, in our structure,in our psyche and the design of the brain.
And in the same competitiveness. We are not just pack animals,we are competing animals, and within the pack too.We strive to occupy the highest position in the pack hierarchy. The failure of technology at least upsets us,the monkey can not help but envy, this is an instinct that requires an increase in its status. And this is not all speculative letters, everything has been confirmed thousands of times by experiments and on humans in the first place. We show off,are proud of, successful technologies, and envy the owners of successful technologies. And any Knowledge for us is a competitive baggage of technologies. And the monkey is even virtually in his brain ,imaginatively trying to rise up is such a brain activity,it sweetens the pill -You are the coolest, you are honest, you are smart, you do everything Right, and everything you know is very cool.Monkeys get together in flocks, in social groups, and criticize other social groups, and are unnecessarily proud of their social virtues, the whole social group-I'm not the only one-there are so many more smart and correct, so I'm correct. And the simplest self-satisfaction of the instinct is to blame someone for something, thereby saying-I am good, and THEY are bad. This way, you can assert yourself at someone else's expense.Hence the alleged ideological confrontation between atheists and non-atheists.In principle, both of them amuse the demon, that is, they assert themselves at someone else's expense.Imagining that they have the Right Knowledge, feeding their Ego and pride.
No monkey can verify 95% of the information it has.And no matter what they say about the verifiability of experiments,no monkey can personally check all the tested experiments. And so 95% of her knowledge is Faith in them. And as mentioned above, no faith makes any difference if it is not justified ,not meaningful by the bearer of faith, but accepted without proof. There is no difference whether you are an atheist or an adept of the Tumbu-yumba faith. As long as you don't understand the Basics of this or that concept or Idea, you can't be an adherent of this concept or idea, you are just a religious fanatic. And as I said, most atheists have no idea what Scientific atheism is all about.Having heard enough from teachers or senior comrades about the failure of faith in God,that only fools do this, adherents of atheism thoughtlessly follow what they think is a successful technology. However, I can say the same about believers in Spirits. Most believers don't give a damn about their own religion and its philosophy.Well..that's why they are believers, whether they are atheists, Baptists, or tumbu-Yubists. And all of them are measured by members, although both are ignorant by nature, with rare exceptions.Instinct, however.
Please!Just do not need religious disputes and drool-de my atheistic faith is correct, I am not a monkey, not an ignoramus, Faith is not an instinct for you, but a Saint, etc….Hopeless.I do not reject your worldview at all,I am absolutely sure that your Faith is the most Correct, and you are very educated……Who understands-he understands, and hello to Them.)
Atheism denies faith, opposes it, and does not imply it. And his denial builds not on speculation, not on the unknown. On the refusal of their conjecturesunknown to recognize. Atheism is based on logic. What is impossible to prove, what is absurd, does not require recognition. In it
ecognition there is an agreement to consider yourself flawed. An atheist has the right to be such / flawed, to recognize the role of a puppet. Just doesn't recognize it. He can't get them, colloquially, in. Nowhere, he has no faith, not even its “organ”.
Atheism cannot prove its claims due to the unsolvability of the main question of philosophy (about the primacy of spirit or matter), so clearly atheism is faith (a system of statements that cannot be proved. And refute it too). But we must understand that atheism is not a religion.
I'm sorry! I posted the answer in the wrong place: not as an answer to the question, but as a comment on the last answer. So – again!
Let's separate the flies from the cutlets. Cutlets, in this case, are a person's faith, and flies are a particular church that parasitizes on a person's natural need for faith. A person can believe in anything or anyone: in God, in the devil, in flying saucers, in communism, in the immortal soul, in the weather forecast. In the commentary, faith is interpreted one-sidedly – as trust in the object of worship. But the basic definition of Faith is: a firm belief in something or someone. You need a reason to believe!!!
I, for example, trust the weather forecast and believe in the existence of aliens, because there are reasons for this belief. And the guys in cassocks offer to believe them that there is a God. But at the same time, no evidence of this is presented. They say, do not be confused, in the Bible, they say, it says…!!! By the way, a very good communist idea did not take root because it was turned into a religion. And as history shows, any religion is a path to medieval obscurantism!
I know that there is no God!!! I am, thank God, an atheist (sorry for the oxymoron, or oxymoron, as you like). Faith and knowledge are different concepts. Science knows that it does not know everything, and it is asymptotically approaching the truth, that is, complete knowledge, but most likely this is unattainable. Religion, on the other hand, claims to know the ultimate truth and that the truth was whispered in its ear by the Almighty.
Yes, faith is needed. Knowledge goes with faith, but faith in common sense. After all, a scientist, putting forward a hypothesis, believes that it will be confirmed. And if it doesn't, well, let's put forward another hypothesis, and we're getting closer to the truth. But the churches have only one thing: the Bible says…
Knowledge is a support, a foundation, and faith in mythical gods is a crutch.
Dostoevsky and his novel The Brothers Karamazov (undoubtedly a great writer and a great novel) are often mentioned today. Ivan Karamazov once said angrily: if there is no God, then everything is allowed? Here Ivan is wrong. Faith in God does not insure against committing illegal acts! In the entire history of religious beliefs, so many crimes have been committed by churchmen and their congregations that it can be argued that religious organizations, both large and small, do not even have their hands up to their elbows, they are covered in blood up to their shoulders. Never get clean. And the “good” Orthodox novoversh how many Old Believers were burned alive?
Atheists are not fans of any forces. Atheists are supporters of common sense, and it is certainly not necessary to look for it in the Bible and other literary monuments of ancient peoples.
Well, in conclusion. It can be argued that 100% of the world's population is atheist. Someone believes or believed in Perun, someone in Zeus, someone in the supposedly resurrected Christ, someone in the Aztec god Vitzliputzli, etc. Mankind has come up with thousands of gods and deities in the entire history of its existence. If I ask a Christian: do you believe in Vitzliputzli – he will probably answer: no! Yes, my dear fellow, you are an atheist-I will have to state it.
You need to build the sentence correctly, then it will be clear. Atheism is not a belief in the absence of God, but a lack of faith in God. Just as poverty is not a means of not being rich, it is a lack of means of being rich. Just like that.
Because in this context, faith is nothing but an assumption. The assumption that there is a higher power, namely God, is acceptable.
The confusion in these concepts is interpreted rather in favor of theism, when faith is presented as a certain innermost quality of the human soul. Therefore, atheism cannot be called a faith, for the simple reason that it casts doubt on this assumption.
The theist assumes (believes), the atheist doubts. By defining the basic concepts precisely, you can use them more precisely and get a clear picture
