  1. Since the question is posed in the present tense, I became very curious, where in the 21st century did you find people who really become philosophers (in the full sense of the word) and are not shy (not afraid) to openly declare this, let alone “teach life”? To teach someone about life, today it is enough to be an active user of a social network. Become a blogger, for example, and post photos on Instagram with captions of “educational content”, which usually does not relate to visual content in any way. But this is not philosophy. Not even close to it.
If you are talking about people who are now entering higher education institutions in philosophy departments and directions, finishing them and even going to graduate school, then 1) not all of them immediately realize which faculty they have entered (many of them enter only because they did not pass the competition somewhere else); 2) they are mainly engaged in studying the philosophical tradition and abstractly retell it in their coursework and; 3) even if they go to graduate school, they pursue the goal of either staying in science and developing their research interests, or simply going on a roll (or sitting out the draft age).
As a result, today there are more theorists than philosophers who hardly want to teach anyone about life. And in general, philosophy does not do this, unlike religion. It deals with understanding life as such.

  2. Perhaps some of those who are interested in philosophy have such a motive – someone to teach life. But not all of them. It can be said that this is not a true philosophical motive.

In the entire history of mankind, only 2-3 dozen great philosophers have appeared who have contributed to the development of philosophy. In this sense, a person becomes a great philosopher by accident. There is no guarantee that your own efforts will be able to contribute to the knowledge of the philosophical subject. If you have made a contribution to the knowledge of the truth, then it becomes the property of all mankind, and a person becomes a philosopher. And if you didn't, then you didn't.

These people, as they themselves write, are driven by a single goal: the knowledge of the truth. And the fact that someone can learn life from their works, from their formulations-this is not their task.

Of course, they often became teachers. But due to circumstances. Not with the original scope.

Initially – individual curiosity, interest in issues not related to everyday life. They are interested in questions that do not relate to how to better equip your home, how to decorate yourself more attractive, how to sell more and better salted fish, how to become a top manager. For example, already at the dawn of philosophy, in Antiquity, such philosophers as Heraclitus of Ephesus or Plato were of royal families. They had a very definite future ahead of them, but they turned away from royal honors in favor of learning the truth.

The most interesting thing is that the study of philosophy, which begins as an individual interest, turns out, and philosophy has come to this conclusion in the course of its history, to be necessary for the Truth itself. Philosophical knowledge turns out to be not just an arbitrary subjective interest, but in the one who develops his thinking to reason-the Truth itself knows itself.

  3. It seems to me that they want to understand life, to see a little more. Philosophy helps to form views on life, to look for answers to important questions. One of the goals of philosophy is to determine the place of a person in the world. If a person is interested in this topic, if he wants to try to understand such complex issues, then philosophy, as a science, can help him.

  4. Not a valid question. And what does it mean to become philosophers?

Went to science philosophy? More often, it is just a predisposition to this form of knowledge, as someone has, for example, to medicine.

Does he philosophize a lot? Yes, he probably likes to be smart. Maybe he just enjoys the movement of thought, maybe to consider himself smarter than others.

In general, philosophy is one of the most important basic sciences about the Meaning of Life, about the search, finding and application of something big in Life in order to improve the quality of life from the inside – awareness, living, happiness.

Very few people come to this, they come when they get tired of the senselessness, obsession of rakes received from birth.

  5. There is a striking interest in philosophy and at the same time confusion in its understanding, which occurs due to its substitution by philodoxia. In this regard, it is important to follow the advice of Lucian of Samosata-to avoid them like mad dogs. But without a true philosophy, society will perish. It can be understood on the basis of a cumulative series of smart-wise-philosophers. Smartness is a gift of nature that is not inherent in many people. Wisdom is a child of life experience and is very relevant to society. Philosophy is the science of science as a means of explaining the highest form of science-theory and creating methods for theorizing sciences-logical thinking. It is easily and quickly mastered by representatives of all specific sciences in order to understand them theoretically. Without this, society will not survive. And as for the institutional philosophers who are not able to construct a sorit and a cladogram of any concept, they are not philosophers, but philodoxists…. 18.09.2020

  6. As a professional philosopher, but also as a person who has been both on that (simple, everyday) and on the scientific and philosophical universe of the inner world, I am always interested in the opposite question-how a considerable number of people today do not become them and do not even understand, despise philosophers.. The desire and need for knowledge, analysis, and awareness lies in the foundations from the very beginning to the end of a person. Not to do this, in general, how not to live, but simply to exist in the mechanisms of society and the basic needs of biology, having a number of psychological problems and constraints. But of course there are people who realize these needs not in the knowledge of the world around them, in themselves, and other people, but in technical knowledge (Cars, weapons, etc.), in the knowledge of their hobby, profession from the point of view of spiritual fascination, sensual interest

  7. Philosophy is not a profession, but a way of life, a state of mind and consciousness. A philosopher is a “lover of wisdom”!!! “I wander through the Milky Way, My soul's fire burns in the darkness of the universe, In the galaxies I leave my mark And sprinkle stardust on the night. I sail through a raging sea – – – of Space, time and stardust, Free, I circle the Cosmos, In my mind—nothing. ” Felix Bliss. A philosopher is not a teacher, a philosopher is a sage. The philosopher does not learn, he is born!!! With respect.

  8. People become philosophers because initially the life of the universal ” I “and the life of the human personality” Basil ” is the formalized essence of reality, which is obtained as a conscious act of perception of the world in space and provides life with the very form of being.

Life is shared, not divided into parts of your-mine or any other living being, including parasites, molecules, DNA-RNA, chemical elements, voltage+ -, and even energy and their interrelationships in all their manifestations, other.

The life of the “general” knowing itself in all its manifestations needs an intermediary:

For example, the human factor in the lowest limit is people and their community, in the highest “man-human society”, among the DNA is the DNA of the biological form of the material body of a conditional person in which, sooner or later, during the evolutionary cycle, a new form of the ideal thought of the unconscious in self-knowledge will be born and established. This fact of the objective reason for the existence of the universe, the World, is the basis of everything…

However, the difference between Reality and objective convention or the fact of the manifested form in the example of “Basil” is diametrically opposed to each other, although there is a whole.

On the one hand, “Vasily” is everything, but all this does not fit into Vasya's limited mind.

On the other hand, “Vasily” will remain Vasya until Vasya reveals his limited mental abilities and restores the priority of equality between-I didn't know and I know.

In this example, the unconscious ” God ” seeks a conscious opinion of itself in the intelligent construction of Everything through the personal experience of individual parts of this Whole in the lower limit of the protein form, these are our bodies-carriers of Spirit and developing divine thought. In the Highest Limit, this is a spiritual Person.

We are far from human, though we like to call ourselves that.

In us, the desire to become a human being belongs to the divine part of Everything distorted to yours-mine, although with a stretch, but still glimmers.

It is for this simple reason that we are born, some unconsciously, others consciously, into an ever-evolving life, ready-made philosophers with our own limited understanding of God In ourselves.

Friends! Let's live together and consciously. Let's stop being egoists to ourselves and by our actions of constructive thought and in self-knowledge we will be teachers to each other by their actions.

(where there was a lot when I didn't know what was not enough)

(you will only take with you what has understanding)

(A and B were sitting on the pipe, And B fell and what was left on the pipe was lost)

    I'm probably a delusional science fiction philosopher…

Although philosophizing class-probably philosophy is life.

  9. In general, people who are more or less intelligent are divided into 2 types: Professionals and Thinkers.

So, the thinking type of people is always philosophers, no matter who they are, no matter where they work.

    Professionals – everyone else.

  10. Humanity is a community of individuals who are unable to live intelligently, for the most part. So he tries to live by the rules. This imposes certain restrictions on its existence. On our existence. A philosopher is a person who is aware of the reasons for these limitations and tries to compensate for them by summing up the theoretical basis for the phenomena he observes. This base is called philosophy.
Perhaps we can say that a philosopher is a kind of revolutionary who aims at revolutionizing the mass consciousness. It is unlikely that he himself can be called a person who wants to teach someone, but the very philosophy that he created, yes , it can certainly make life easier for people, provided that they are able to accommodate it.
This is true for philosophers, but not necessarily for people with a degree in philosophy.

  11. I don't think it comes from a desire to teach others. Rather, philosophers want to understand something for themselves, understand the mechanisms of the universe and determine what they and their ideas are good for.

  12. Rather, they want to understand themselves and the world around them. A philosopher becomes one who looks at the world with curiosity and asks himself a lot of questions. Well, he tries to answer them.

  13. Philosophy has no task to teach, otherwise philosophers would write instructions for using electric kettles. Philosophy determines the direction of development of thought, and each philosopher, according to his method, develops tools. “Philosophy ends when it gives answers, then it becomes an applied science.” This is from Wittgenstein's thoughts. And here is a quote from his Logical and philosophical treatise”:

    • “6. 53. The correct method of philosophy would be to say nothing but what can be said, and therefore nothing but the propositions of natural science, i.e., what has nothing to do with philosophy, and then, whenever someone wants to say something metaphysical, show him that he has not given any meaning to certain signs in his propositions. This method would be unsatisfactory for our interlocutor – he would not feel that we were teaching him philosophy, but it would still be the only strictly correct method.
      1. My suggestions are explained by the fact that the person who understands me will eventually understand their meaninglessness if he has climbed them – on them-above them (he must, so to speak, drop the ladder after he has climbed it). He must overcome these suggestions, only then will he see the world correctly.
    1. What you can't talk about, you should keep quiet about.”

  14. Philosophers want to become those who are used to engage in demagoguery, to be clever and do not want to work. You might as well become a psychochologist,a political scientist. Such people will never benefit society and will parasitize its body.

  15. There are different opinions about the reasons for the formation of a philosopher: “A philosopher is born as such and is not connected with any special life circumstances; the type of connection with the world and the manner of knowledge characteristic of a philosopher appear again and again at all times in all philosophically gifted people”[1].

There is also an opinion that a philosopher is someone who tries to organize chaos.

According to T. I. Oizerman, the study of the reasons for the formation of a single individual as a philosopher or a great philosopher “involves applying the principles of historical materialism to a special historical, biographical, and psychological study, which, if there is sufficient empirical data, solves this particular question”[2].

Also, a person can join philosophy during his inner spiritual crisis, which creates chaos in determining his place in the world during the transition period from childhood to adulthood, as well as from admiration for the world. From this point on, his philosophical age may begin. A number of accidents precede this, as well as a number of cases that allow for the growth of philosophical activity and philosophical work in later life. It is possible that before a person is introduced to philosophy, he has forms of consciousness that were developed in childhood. This can be the mythology of fairy tales or the content of film art, as well as interesting conversations with other people. Therefore, the point of view that asserts that becoming a philosopher is not connected with special life circumstances is not true. It is true that the philosopher appears due to a combination of circumstances, in appearance by accident.

  16. There have already been thoughts that I agree with. They become philosophers because they have this desire at the genetic level-first of all. Secondly, philosophy is primarily a word from the Greek phileo — love, sophia-wisdom, philosophy — love of wisdom.

Everyone loves something , someone, something he likes more, and something less.. There are some people who like wisdom , and on a subconscious level they have an understanding that this is the condition that can make life prosperous and harmonious…

The desire to teach someone to live is a different “genome”, True Philosophers know that there is only one teacher – Christ (Logos) and the righteous blessing-moralizing is primarily from him . They also know that it is impossible to make someone happy against their good will. The desire to learn must come from within; an experienced philosopher can only help the young; the seeker of wisdom, the seeker of truth

People can become philosophers after they understand that true wisdom helps not only to survive, but also to be saved.. Wisdom is light , ” it is much better to live in light than in darkness.” Ecclesiastes

  17. Someone is pushed by the difficulties of life to find support in it for the accommodation of internal forces. I do not exclude that someone needs to teach others. Well, as a whole for me. Philosophy is an intermediate stage on the way to deeper spiritual knowledge.
