Occasional words – “violators of the laws (rules) of common language word formation” – and so – called potential words, which, on the contrary, “filling in empty cells of word-forming paradigms…, implement the laws of word formation” (E. A. Zemskaya), are usually formed by word-forming derivation-the formation of new words from existing morphemes in the language according to known (usually productive) models. These models are reduced to the following methods of word formation: suffix, prefix-suffix, addition of stems and their truncation.
