Oscar Wilde famously wrote about this in The Portrait of Dorian Gray (not literally, of course; you'll have to think about it a little). By the way, Wilde in his youth held the belief that art is primary, and life is secondary, but with age he came to the opposite opinion (in fact, the result of his spiritual research was the aforementioned novel).
It all depends on what you mean by the word “life”. If the process itself, then I think that art would become monotonous, and life would become crazy (especially given the new art trends).
