From a physical point of view, the hippocampus is involved in the process of storing information. It is responsible for the formation of emotions and memory consolidation (that is, the transition of short-term memory to long-term). This may explain why information that evoked certain emotions in us (especially those expressed to a large extent) is remembered better than “dry” information. Any information perceived by a living being causes a response in the nervous system in the form of a certain number of electrical impulses, the nature of which depends on several factors (for example, the novelty of the information, whether it is related to the satisfaction of a particular need, etc.). Thus, information is captured during repetitions or with a very strong response (“stressful imprinting”). stronger and stronger.
