One Answer

  1. There are many films that touch on these years or are completely dedicated to them.
First of all, there is nothing that reflects the era so well as the films shot in it.
I will suggest some of them. First of all, it is a huge number of propaganda films of the 20s from the Soviet era. Such directors as Dziga Vertov (“The Man with the movie Camera”, “Three Songs about Lenin”), Lev Kuleshov (“The Extraordinary Adventures of Mr. West in the Land of the Bolsheviks”), Sergey Eiseinstein (“Old and New”,” Bezhin Meadow “(unfortunately, only frames from the film have been preserved)), Alexander Dovzhenko (“Earth”).

Secondly, it is European cinema, in particular the films of Walter Ruttmann (“Berlin: Symphony of the Big City”, “Melody of the World”), Rene Claire (“Under the Roofs of Paris”)

Third, and most importantly, these are American films of the 20s. There are hundreds of them, so I'll list the most popular ones. Of course, these are the films of Charles Chaplin (“Circus”, “The Kid”, “Payday”), documentaries by Robert Flaherty (“Nanook from the North”), Buster Keaton (“Cinematographer”,”Three Eras”), Erich von Stroheim (“Greed”) and, of course, the revolutionary film” Jazz Singer ” by Alan Crosland, which brought sound to cinema.

Time passed for understanding this era and even more films about the 20s of the XX century were born. It is impossible not to name the film “Only Girls in Jazz” by Billy Wilder, which, I think, everyone knows. In addition, this is the Oscar-winning film “The Artist” by Michel Hazanavicius and also” The Great Gatsby ” by Baz Luhrmann.
About 20 years narrate the following films: “Hugo” Martin Scorsese, “the Atonement” by Joe Wright, “the Serpent's egg” and “Buffoon, upon the stage”, Ingmar Bergman, “the twentieth century”, Bernardo Bertolucci, “Amarcord” by Federico Fellini, “the Quiet don” by Sergei Gerasimov (and the following adaptation of the novel), “Changeling” by Rob Marshall, “the Republic of SHKID” Gennady Poloka, “the Twelve Chairs” by Leonid Gaidai, Mark Zakharov, or

I tried to give as many films as possible directly related to this time.
