In particular, at my university, everyone was afraid of the terrible subject “Heat engineering”. But since this was not a core subject of our specialty, we ended up spending a whole semester studying a school physics course in terms of isothermal, isochoric, isobaric, and adiabatic processes, but considering them a little more deeply, taking into account our experience in higher mathematics))) In the 4th year, there were already highly specialized subjects, most of which were based on the knowledge gained in previous courses. In particular, the “Building structures” were a hybrid of a tower, copromat, drawing board and a number of other items, and I personally found it much more difficult than all the items included in it.
About the diploma-I agree. After receiving the topic of the diploma and getting acquainted with the thesis supervisor, I appeared at the university 5 times (for consultations with supervisors on the diploma blocks), then 2 more times to bring the diploma in line with all the norms (with DR) and 1 time for a control defense at the department (it was optional). But about the text message to the teacher – this is something either anecdotal, or the previous respondent's university was of the appropriate level… Our records were kept very strictly. In Electrical Engineering, the teacher was loyal – at the first lesson, he said: “Everyone has moments when they can't come to class – so I allow each of you to skip 1 lecture and 1 practice. Who misses more – I guarantee problems on the exam.” I learned Copromat easily. So easy that he even helped solve problems for fellow students. The teacher quickly figured me out and I passed the exam only with 4 attempts, although I knew the entire course and solved the problems in 15 minutes (instead of the allotted 40)… So I do not advise you to fill in the filonit at the junior courses (you will miss the basic knowledge, or you will not learn how to apply it), or at the senior ones (relations, of course, are more loyal, but even from the 5th year you can fly out for discipline or failure-everything depends on the university)

Teachers, again, have a different attitude.
