This is a complex technique. I could certainly give you excerpts from articles on the Internet, but you can find them yourself, so I'll give you my personal experience:
Choose a room that is perfectly familiar to you, but that you don't see every day. It should be quite spacious.
Every day, in a calm environment, you should close your eyes and imagine that you are walking around this room. How exactly (eye view, top view, etc.) it's your choice. Pace the room, peering through the windows. Make your brain and, in particular, your imagination get used to such exercises. Try not to change the layout and other constants of the room after a couple of days, so it will be more stable in your head. This should be done every evening. It takes an average of 5 to 10 days to get used to it.
Take some unknown fact. It should be quite difficult to remember (for example, the height of a mountain or the years of life of a historical person), and then connect it with some vivid image, the more absurd, the better. You can draw this image if you have a similar skill. Place it as an object in your room. And continue your daily exercise routine.
For each fact that you want to remember, think of an object, place it in the room and remember it (not just about the fact of its presence, but when “walking” around the room, touch it, look at it, etc.). When you get into the habit, you don't need to use unusual images and focus on just one room. Sherlock had the whole of London.
Personally, I can't use it for work and study purposes (too impersonal information with a monotonous associative field), but I store some things there (passwords, dates, names, and some interesting facts). It is very convenient, because such information is quite stable.
Everything written above does not pretend to be a recipe for everyone, however, this kind of sequence of actions helped me develop my halls to the level of a small house.
