To develop memory, you need to work with many areas at once.

Learn poetry, learn mnemonics and fast counting skills. Learn foreign languages. Develop in several areas that you are interested in at once, in order to build as many neural connections as possible.

Poems will help a lot. But this is just the beginning))

    I don't agree with Dmitry.

If you train your memory regularly, it will naturally improve. The brain needs to be kept in good shape. Athletes train daily for muscle strength and endurance, and you can also develop mental abilities and memory.

Of course, poems can help with this.

I think it will improve ! After all, learning, in my opinion, is a kind of memory and memorization training . And from my own experience, I can say that since I started writing poetry, my memory has improved

Of course… no! But you will know a lot of verses.

Seriously, your memory as such will not improve (long – term memory remains long – term, short-term memory remains short-term, and working memory remains working), but your ability to remember will change. The fact is that we have such a thing as voluntary memorization, which is not only the highest mental function that distinguishes us from animals, but is also formed in life. This means that random memorization is a skill!

When you learn poetry, you develop the skill of random memorization. What will it do in the future? With regular training, the amount of short-term (and working) memory will increase from 7 (+-2) elements, to “very much”, and what you need to remember for a long time will be easier to transfer to long-term storage.
