  1. There are five types of painting:

    1) easel, that is, painting created on a machine (easel). Easel painting refers to independent works that are perceived out of context, and not as, for example, an illustration;

    2) monumental – created to decorate architectural and other stationary structures;

    3) decorative, designed to decorate various items;

    4) theatrical and decorative is the scenery and costume sketches for shows, performances and movies; sketches of mise en scene;

    5) miniature – paintings of small forms.
