What cool movie posters do you know?
Individual movie posters are real works of art. Are there any resources with attribution and examples of works? Or just your favorite posters? Here, for example, is a selection of Mubi for 2020. Fire away! The real metakino.
I am a big fan of the Italian collector Luigino Bardellotto. Over the years, he has been collecting Cuban film posters and more than 1,200 copies. His exhibition ¡Mira Cuba! I've traveled all over Europe. In general, the Cuban posters of the 60s and 70s have a lot in common with the Polish School of Graphics. It's funny that many artists drew posters for films, knowing only its name. Here you can see something http://cartelcubano.org/
This is a poster of Truffaut's Stolen Kisses. The poster's author didn't know anything about the film other than its title.
I really like this resource with mostly German posters sorted by the year of release of the film (not the poster) – starting as early as 1911. https://www.filmposter-archiv.de/galerie.php?year=1921
There is information about artists and a selection of links and information about some important figures. It's great to flip through the pages year after year and see how the visual language changes. Or notice a poster that was released later and is out of place in the general mosaic.
