Now these two concepts have come to mean almost the same thing. However, the word “agitation” comes from the Latin agitatio – “setting in motion”. And the word propaganda comes from the word propago – “I spread”.
We can conclude that campaigning calls directly to action. And propaganda is the formation of a certain ground for agitation.
For example: propaganda: “GMOs are harmful” + a bunch of pseudoscientific articles, opinions that will be actively distributed in society to those who need it.
Campaign: “Ban GMOs!”. Direct call. First, ideas are disseminated, and based on these ideas, they are later called to action.
