As the late Archpriest Dimitri Smirnov said, resurrection is the know how of eternal life from Jesus Christ. Resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith. In the Apostle Paul we read:
But if Christ is not risen, then your faith is in vain: you are still in your sins. That is why those who died in Christ also perished. And if we only hope in Christ in this life, then we are the most unhappy of all people. (1 Corinthians 15: 17-19)
Philosophy is always looking for the meaning of a person's temporary life – Jesus Christ answered this question with His Resurrection.: –
” … you must be born again …”!
The religious meaning of the Resurrection is that only by following the path of righteousness in the likeness of Jesus Christ can one be raised to eternal Life … in the abodes of Love … The essence of God, as Christ said:
“…I am the door: whoever enters by Me will be saved, and will enter and go out, and will find pasture… No one comes to the Father but through Me.”10:9: 14:6 )
Let's talk not about the philosophical and religious meaning, but about the practical meaning of the Resurrection of Jesus.
The Resurrection proves that the death of Jesus was accepted by the Heavenly Father as an atoning sacrifice, that is, as a punishment for our sins (if there was no Resurrection, then God might have been dissatisfied with something and the death of Jesus was the result of this dissatisfaction). For me personally, this practically means that I am forever forgiven by God and God is no longer my Judge, but a caring Father and Savior whom I can fully trust.
Resurrection means that Jesus is alive at any given time, that He can be spoken to, that He hears everything, that He continues to act in the same Spirit as He did before His death. It is also practically conducive to hoping for It.
The Resurrection proves that there is no fear of death, and beyond death there is the continuation of life. Jesus walked this path, and as I live with Him, I know that He will also lead me through the same path with the same result.
Jesus predicted His resurrection, and it took place. This means that all His words are completely true, all His other predictions and promises will also be fulfilled, and they can be fully relied upon.
Jesus Christ or his apostles never spoke about the resurrection of the dead in any abstract way and never gave any reason to look for any philosophical meaning in their words. They always spoke clearly.
Colossians 2: 8
See that no one enslaves you by deceiving you with empty philosophizing based on human traditions and the laws of this world, and not on Christ.
In fact, everything is very simple:
Originally, God created humans perfect, they could live forever, but humans screwed up and became mortal.
Ecclesiastes 3: 11
All that God has created is beautiful in its time; He has also put eternity in the hearts of men, but from beginning to end man will not understand God's works.
Romans 5: 12
Sin entered the world through one person, and with sin came death, and thus all became mortal, because in him all sinned.
Thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, people once again have the opportunity to live forever literally.
John 3: 16
After all, God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but will have eternal life.
And this is how the Bible describes the eternal life of man:
Revelation 21: 3-5
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne:- This is the dwelling of God with people. Here He will live with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and will be their God.
4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more mourning, no more crying, no more pain, because the old things are gone.
5 The one sitting on the throne said:— I create everything new! And He added:- Write it down, because these are the right and true words.
Revelation 22:1, 2
1 Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, shining like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb
2 in the middle of the main street of the city. The tree of life grows on both sides of the river. It bears fruit twelve times a year, yielding its own fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree are intended to heal the nations.
As you know, Jesus Christ gave up his human soul as a sacrifice
life and received a spiritual body when he was resurrected by God. Thus he opened the door of resurrection for the dead – this is the meaning of the redemption of people from the captivity of death:” For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord ” (Rom 6:23). All who are dead will be raised up, and those who are alive at the time of judgment will never taste death. ( Revelation 7: 9)
People can live forever, and death will be finished forever (1 Corinthians 15: 26)
This is the central line of the Biblical narrative, the main Christian teaching!
Immortality will be given to the chosen ones-the brothers of Christ who will go to heaven as spiritual persons. There are a total of one hundred and forty-four thousand of them (Rev 7: 4; 14: 1).
Everyone else will have eternal life on earth, but they will not be immortal. (1 Corinthians 15 ch. Revelation 21: 3-5)
It helps to perceive everything in the most visual way, without any unnecessary rituals and philosophizing – there is no death for the righteous! Why do we need so many grandiose words when God's Word has proved everything in a simple, straightforward way?
