  1. It's unclear when. When it is needed, apparently, by someone and something, then it will leave.

To whom and what — I do not know and do not know. I mean some global processes, historical, historical-cultural, psychosocioeconomic processes. And in principle, the concept of art is an untreatable, indestructible magical element of life, which, apparently, will disappear only at the moment of the disappearance of living organisms. A museum is a more local social structure, although it also has a very long history.

Art doesn't have to be in a museum, of course. Nevertheless, a museum can be a very comfortable and even somewhat sacralizing space under the right circumstances. This is already connected with the personal qualities of the creatures that work in this museum. And also with other circumstances: the architectural features of the museum as a building, the structure of this institution, a lot of factors. Will there come a time when museums will no longer be needed? Certainly, it will come, because, apparently, any moments will come. It is difficult for us to talk about this. Here we are already entering the realm of Nostradamus. But a simple logical consciousness suggests that everything can be. And, apparently, museums are a certain historical precedent. Naturally, it is not eternal and, in principle, partly surrogate. And it has, of course, its own time frame, which we do not yet know. We only know when the museums were created, but when they will end, of course, we don't know yet.

  2. Why should art leave museums? Museums not only socialize, but also valorize art. Who will cut the production of golden eggs? On the contrary, we see that art actively penetrates even non-core museums, and contemporary art centers everywhere call themselves museums, using the social credit of trust in this institution. So there is no motivation to leave in the near future.

  3. Art goes online. Lagging behind technical capabilities by decades. But-leaves.

And art remains in museums. In my opinion, it would be very stupid for developed and prosperous countries to save so much money and close museums. Yes, they can become even more unprofitable. But they are still needed.

Memory is very important. In every sense. Museums are part of the memory of our culture.
