  1. The works of previous philosophers are always respected and considered by current ones. For the most part, philosophy itself is based on the dialogues of Plato (representing idealists) and Aristotle (representing materialists). Both Nietzsche and most modern philosophers borrow more or less from each other's ideas based on these trends.

  2. Modern philosophical trends are somehow based on the works of philosophers of those times.

    Philosophy is not an exact science. Some support the foundations of Nietzsche's writings. Others strongly disagree with them. It all depends on what direction you are trying to compare with Nietzsche.
