I am inclined to the idea expressed in the third part of “Back to the Future”. Doc Brown: “Marty, the future isn't written, it can be changed — and you know it! Everyone can make the future what they want. I won't let my fate depend on the photo. I want to live as I see fit to live, as my heart dictates.”
I believe in fate, but it's all too many-sided. In multiple axes, dimensions, or spaces – whatever you want to call it.
Or better yet, imagine a metro map, for example, Moskovsky. So, you need to get from point A to point B, you can do this in several ways, even by land, but if you need to go to point B, you will certainly get there.
I believe in such a fate, with clearly marked points on time segments, and how to get there is a small freedom given to a person.
