  1. Many philosophers could quote Dugin's famous quote in response to such a question. They can be understood, the question of the practicality of philosophy is often asked in order to get an argument for not doing it. Indeed, the ability to philosophize at first glance is less practical than the ability to, say, throw knives.

But here we can recall such areas of modern philosophy as eliminativism and analytical philosophy, which claim the correct use of language as one of their tasks. In the sense of expressing your thoughts in the most careful and correct way, observing the laws of formal logic and understanding which concepts belong to folk psychology and which to science.

Man is a social being. Being able to communicate, express your thoughts correctly, and be understood is such a practical skill that it is believed to have helped our species survive. And if rhetoric helps communication take shape, philosophy fills it with content.

  2. Philosophy is generally considered an impractical science. However, there is a field of philosophy that is called “Practical Philosophy”, it includes ethics, aesthetics, philosophy of law, social, political, economic philosophy and the like.

  3. Philosophy cannot be practical or non-practical, philosophy is what it is. Don't believe what other people say, you decide for yourself what is true and what is false. And when someone imposes their opinion on someone, it is a lie. “You said – – – I believed, you repeated- – – I doubted, you insisted, and I realized that you were lying.” With respect.

  4. Philosophy is practical for philosophers because some of them bring carrots, and the rest dopamine from the illusion of their own dominance.
Philosophy is practical for everyone else, because it allows you to quickly separate intellectual garbage (philosophical rationalisms) from the true work of the intellect. To do this, you need to know such garbage by sight.
Philosophy is very impractical for people with creative, creative intelligence if they have chosen it for their professional activities. The lives of such people will be wasted on their intelligence. There is bound to be disappointment, but the time lost to idle chatter (philosophy) will never be returned.
