Many philosophers could quote Dugin's famous quote in response to such a question. They can be understood, the question of the practicality of philosophy is often asked in order to get an argument for not doing it. Indeed, the ability to philosophize at first glance is less practical than the ability to, say, throw knives.
But here we can recall such areas of modern philosophy as eliminativism and analytical philosophy, which claim the correct use of language as one of their tasks. In the sense of expressing your thoughts in the most careful and correct way, observing the laws of formal logic and understanding which concepts belong to folk psychology and which to science.
Man is a social being. Being able to communicate, express your thoughts correctly, and be understood is such a practical skill that it is believed to have helped our species survive. And if rhetoric helps communication take shape, philosophy fills it with content.
