We look at the definition: “inspiration is a special state of a person, which is characterized, on the one hand, by high productivity, on the other – by a huge increase and concentration of human forces.” The concept of high-quality and therefore somewhat vague – what is high performance expressed in? If, say, you're an artist and you've been painting one picture a month, and now you've painted 2 pictures, is this high productivity, or not? And if it's 10? А And the “huge lift”? – �What is it all about?
Judging by my experience, which is limited to mathematics, for me, inspiration manifests itself in the emergence of extraordinary ideas that for some reason did not even occur to me before. It's a new way of looking at things, in other words. And during this period, I can often solve things that I couldn't solve before. In math, this is what high productivity is all about-when you find ways to solve a difficult problem by your standards that you haven't been able to solve before. Because you can follow the usual algorithms to solve at least a thousand typical problems in one day – for example, “2 + x = 10”, where you can substitute any other number instead of 2 or 10.
That is, you don't even need to think here, just be a calculator (“computer”, i.e. a counter). And to solve a thousand such examples in a day, you just need to get used to writing quickly, and not think and analyze. I.e. there is no inspiration, a purely mechanical approach. But if the task is difficult, and you mastered it, then you really showed high performance. And to do this, you need creative thinking, unusual approaches, the ability to look at the problem from different angles and combine seemingly incompatible things.
The complexity of a problem can be expressed algorithmically . There is a concept of “computational complexity” that can be calculated. And thus, in fact, you can prove that a particular problem is really difficult, especially if it requires methods that you don't know, and you are forced to invent these methods, i.e., in fact, to make a discovery in mathematics within your mathematical universe – because you think the same way as people of the past thought, and independently of them make a discovery. This is a huge thrill, then reading textbooks, to see your formula, which you so lovingly derived, and understand that you were right.
Inspiration is when you listen to an incredibly great (at the moment or for centuries) song, and not necessarily at home with headphones, but even just on public transport; a melody performed live in front of you, even in a pub, even in a crosswalk; watch a movie; talk about something important or just about something with a person you like, a stranger, a loved one or an authority for you; walk down the street and admire the falling leaves/the first snow/the first flowers or walk along the coast, through the forest, on concrete roads. the jungle, but it doesn't matter; you watch people, animals, events; you look at works of art, study your own or someone else's culture and language, etc., etc., and at the moment of this or any other action, you are seized by an incredible upsurge of feelings, emotions, you pass through yourself, through your whole being what made an impression on you, absorb it without a trace, get charged with it and experience a kind of enlightenment from admiration or indignation/excitement/etc., passing from a frenzied desire to act, create, create, change the world and its structure at the root, in the end! There is little more magnificent than this. The motivation and desire to change yourself, your life or the lives of your relatives/the world/society/the world of literature, art, sports, etc. are so great that at this very peak moment it is better to just put everything aside and start doing what is asking for you to come out and needs to be released in the form of something (a story, drawing, lyrics, letter/message that can change a lot in your life, etc.). I won't discuss the nuances of this condition, as you know, I think so (like “I wake up in the morning, reread my brilliant poem and understand that this is incompetence”).
I understand it that way and I feel it that way. I personally had this experience when I was 14-15 years old, when I looked out of the window at night at the first snow and was so moved by this picture that I wrote poems, but in the morning I reread them and realized that I didn't have the talent like Yesenin. But the feeling in those minutes (at night) was indescribably good, magnificent, wonderful, as if the sea was knee-deep to me) And later, in terms of prose, I found inspiration, it was already worth writing) and sometimes, under the influence of inspiration, there is simply a desire to live a full life, love people around and not offend anyone)
In practice, Alexander Pushkin's definition of “Our Everything” helps well:”Inspiration is the ability to bring yourself to a working state.”
At least it is brief, constructive, and gives a direct indication of action.
Once I was at a performance by Evgeny Grishkovets, where you could ask questions after the performance. So I asked him ,” What is inspiration?” According to Grishkovets, as it turned out, inspiration does not exist. You just need to create at the moment when you feel good. Not perfect, not perfect, but just good. And then a good work can come out.
In my opinion, inspiration is a state of increased motivation for the act of creativity, supported by a clear awareness of the idea or ideas necessary for the successful implementation of the plan.
