    In a dreamy prophetic vision, Jacob saw a stairway to heaven, with angels ascending and descending (Gen. 28: 12-6).

    In Orthodox exegesis, it is interpreted as one of the prototypes of the Mother of God Mary, who united Heaven and earth with the birth of the God-Man Christ.
