German classical philosophy – the doctrine of universal ways of knowing being. Historians of science distinguish two stages in the development of German classical philosophy. The first is the philosophy of Enlightenment, the essence and meaning of which is the analysis of the symbiosis of man and culture. The second stage, German idealism itself, is associated with the construction of a picture of the world as a whole and the systematization of basic human knowledge about nature and cognition. (I. Kant, G. Hegel)
