At the moment, Dugin is not particularly popular, and in his philosophical face, which he personally presents and his proper multi-spiritual understanding , he is completely understandable only in units, since today's culture, fashion in tears and remorse in dreams about life are thoughts that are equal in power to such a philosophy, of which he is the only most famous representative.

Dugin is more famous than popular. and he is famous, in particular, for the fact that he began his public activities with such iconic figures of the underground and avant-garde as musicians Egor Letov and Sergey Kuryokhin, who at one time flirted with political activism. dugin from that time until today speaks a lot and negatively about all sorts of youth idols and works, which is why he became the hero of many memes.

    1. Dugin does not oppose his Eurasianism to the current government in the Russian Federation. All those who oppose themselves to the authorities are pressed by the FSB and the police, as was the case with Limonov's NBP, for example. On the contrary, Dugin stands in solidarity with the authorities and the regime as much as possible. This gives him the opportunity to safely preach among young people and not only.

    2. In general, young people have a catastrophic situation with self-determination. Many people do not know who they are, why they are there, and do not find their place in society and the world. Admission to a university for a random hastily chosen specialty(schools do not engage in career guidance for future applicants in principle, and “parents sometimes do not have enough intelligence or desire for this) also does not help” in this situation. And Dugin, with his Eurasianism, suggests that a person should become part of a certain community, part of a subculture, and acquire an identity. “Yesterday it was just Vasya, but today it is a Eurasian, and even comrades in views” have appeared.

    Here we must also admit that a young person does not have many options for whom to join. More or less, only the liberal-oriented youth stands out, which can often be seen in Navalny's volunteers, but they may not fit in there by their views or dress code. Being a banal Putinist statesman is boring, there are a dime a dozen of them. And Eurasianism is already more interesting.

    1. Dugin is quite charismatic, in addition to being well educated. He is quite a non-trivial person. After all, it is one thing when someone without education tells you that “this is your Newton-bullshit”, and quite another when it is said by an educated person and in all seriousness, and even knows how to justify their position. This is at least original. Purely outwardly, he is quite charismatic, does not hesitate to wear a long beard and does not ” look like an unwashed man who has escaped from the forest or as a caricature character. One more detail – if you are familiar with his works, you can come to the conclusion that his views are monstrous, far from “reasonable good eternal”, very aggressive, but at the same time Dugin himself is most often a calm and polite person(just my impressions). Compare it to some puffing imperial Prokhanov. This contradiction also adds a certain “zest”, the eye has something to cling to.

    2. In my opinion, there has been some devaluation of knowledge among the masses over the past 10 years compared to previous decades. What I mean: now you can get any information you are interested in in 5 minutes, and before you had to pick it all out in some libraries bit by bit. Now knowledge is available and almost free of charge. There is no intrigue in knowing the world. Everything is already known and understood. And the soul wants some kind of intrigue, the feeling that there is still something unknown, something incomprehensible, I want to get in touch with the mystery, so to speak. Well, Dugin just offers such a “knowledge” that denies many people bored with common sense and the usual logic of things, and offers to learn the world through mysticism, through sensations, and not through logic and a rational approach. This may intrigue many people.

    3. The situation in Russia can be described as “the past is a hoax, the future is a fog”. And the present is generally unclear what. Many people, even if they don't understand it with their heads, feel that the future of Russia is rather vague. A person can see that we can't offer much to the world today either. We seem to have lost the economic and technological race, and we are on the sidelines. In addition, looking into the past, it is not entirely clear with whom and with what to associate yourself: red? white? What's that?” In this case, Dugin gives a picture of the world in which Russia has not only a third, but even a fourth path. Disadvantages turn into advantages, Russia is given some kind of original image. We are generally asked to get out of the race and run along the path in the opposite direction, swinging the plow. At the same time, the past is united into something unified, they say, and the tsarist period, and the Soviet period, and all the others in general, were simply stages of the same thing(here you can see a parallel with the state propaganda). Given the past of the last 30 years, and perhaps much earlier, many people find the view of Russia offered by Dugin attractive.
