  1. Because common sense is just a thin crust of ice of order over an endless ocean of chaos. The human mind is constantly trying to structure it, catalog it, and make sense of it. And it succeeds. But still, taking even the most sensible idea, the most solid and clear definition, one should not forget – if you follow this thread for a long time, at the end of the path there will be chaos of variability, dualism or alternation of ethical attitudes.

Wisdom does not lie in reaching the absolute truth; only fools seek it. Wisdom is the power to walk through chaos, collecting bits of momentary order.

  2. Turbato melius capiuntur flumine pisces – catch fish in muddy water.
Allegorically means to take advantage of someone's difficulties, to profitably take advantage of any troubles, riots, ambiguity of the situation.

What makes everything clear? Of course the light. The Light of Truth explains everything, puts everything in its place, distinguishes what is righteous and what is not, divides, enlightens, reveals, etc. But since a person does not really like the truth because it exposes him, reveals, discovers his vices and delusions-therefore, the truth is chosen that will be more or less convenient and acceptable. And an acceptable and convenient truth is the most dangerous lie.

It is precisely lies – individual and collective, national, class, political, ethnic, financial, ideological, etc. – that are precisely the muddy water that is called the world and in which lost humanity floats.

12 And Jesus spake again unto the people, and said unto them, I am the light of the world; whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
    (John 8: 12)

19 We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in evil.
20 We also know that the Son of God has come and given us light and understanding, so that we may know the true God and be in his true Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
    (1John.5:19,20)
