    Socrates is a reformer of theoretical and practical philosophy. As Aristotle pointed out, Socrates founded scientific methodology in the form of inductive reasoning and definition.

    His method is as follows: the interlocutor is asked systematic questions. Moreover, their goal is to bring the interlocutor to an understanding of his own ignorance.

    This is ironic. However, ironic representation of contradictions is not the essence of this method. The point is that the truth is revealed through the disclosure of contradictions.

    Socrates claimed that his method was like a midwife. Because it helps the truth to be born into the world.

    To discover the truth, thought is divided into links. A question is formulated from each link. And for each such question there is a short answer, which is clear in advance. A “dialogue with the interception of the initiative” is being conducted.

    The Socratic method is supplemented and continued by Maieutics.

    As you can see, the Socratic method is inherently based on provoking the interlocutor.
