What is the danger of a psychiatrist? This is the same doctor as any other. And his task is to make the patient's life easier. It is much more dangerous to be left alone with your problems than to turn to a specialist for help.
I consider them to be the same doctors as the others.
If you have a fracture, do you see a doctor? Then why not apply if you suspect that you have, for example, depression?
Incompetence of a single specialist is dangerous.
And yes, I have been successfully treated by a good psychiatrist for 3 years now.
Yes, psychiatrists are dangerous. They can give you a diagnosis. Even if you didn't ask for it. Or not at all the one that was asked for.
This is not what you asked them to do.
Or even convince you that you're perfectly normal; all you need to do is think less, read age-appropriate literature, and listen to your parents.
Creepy people.
…
Of course, I did contact them – otherwise, how would I have known all this?

In addition, psychiatrists may prescribe medications that you don't like. From which you feel bad (from their point of view, this is a subjective experience, but objectively you are better, because you suddenly remembered the last name of the governor).
If you can throw the pills from a regular therapist – or even a psychotherapist – in the trash and move on with your life in peace, then it's more difficult with a psychiatrist. You will be followed. Don't ask me who, or I'll tell you.”
Okay, I'll tell you anyway.
In the hospital, these will be specially trained orderlies. Nurses, if you're lucky (but make no mistake, they're also trained). By the way, they will also kick you out of the women's bathroom – or vice versa – and prohibit smoking in it. No personal life, but that's okay, no one really expected it.
Worse, psychiatrists may be persuaded to monitor you and your relatives ' pill intake. It's as if they don't have other things to do; they could make you tea or go sledding – but no, they have some left-wing duties now.

In general, if it occurred to me to go to psychiatrists now, I would think three more times (despite the old advice not to do this).
…
I won't say anything about violence, indifference and cruelty. I haven't encountered it. It always seemed to me that in a pinch, anyone who could read could pretend to be normal.
If desired. Although yes, this is subjective.
About the “professional deformity”: one of my friends literally lived in an ordinary St. Petersburg psychiatric hospital, from time to time going out on the street and organizing literary evenings and other events. Became, by the way, a member of the British Royal Society (really, not in my head). In my opinion, this proves the general ability of psychiatrists to remain normal.
Another goes to a psychiatric ward every year, as a vacation , to take a break from his colleagues. Of course, at work, this additionally interferes with him, but this is his choice.

Paramedics Yes, some of them are best avoided. But not everything is so bad – until you are prescribed special procedures and you do not read namaz in the dining room before breakfast, they will not even notice you. If they haven't been told to keep an eye on you, of course – but the doctor does, and you can always convince him of your loyalty.
You can read, can't you =))
Again, orderlies are different. One nurse I knew weighed thirty kilograms, ate only mountain ash, and was generally a poet (beautiful and real). She worked for a year, and it didn't get any worse in that time. She didn't go berserk, didn't start suspecting me of being crazy (or I didn't notice it), and didn't get any more violent (probably just because multiplying by zero doesn't work). Then her lifestyle changed, but that's another story…
All the troubles of Russian psychiatry are that while research was being conducted abroad and the existential-phenomenological approach, coupled with ethics, was being honed, punitive psychiatry was being honed in our country in relation to dissidents. As a result, we are half a century behind, if not more.
During my training, the question: “What is the difference between a psychiatric patient and a psychiatrist?” there was only one answer – the presence of a three-sided key. Psychiatrists know what it is.
First of all, I consider them useful, they are dangerous if they are not competent and neglect medical ethics. I have been treated in Moscow by a psychiatrist for HDP for 12 years, and it helps me. Moreover, the quality of my life depends on it, which the psychiatrist and psychotherapist greatly improve. Don't be afraid, go ahead. If something happens, you can always change the specialist to another one. This is normal.
Sure. Especially in tandem with the paramedics. These are people who perceive reality within their limited horizons. And I am sure if I tell them that I have voices and a talking cat, they will be jealous that I am better than they will definitely recognize me as insane!
Psychiatry itself is not dangerous, if only, of course, to live in a democratic state governed by the rule of law, and not under a totalitarian repressive regime, where every psychiatrist is a state agent of the punitive system, aimed at completely neutralizing any “suspicious” citizen.
Psychiatrists are the same people, the same doctors, only mental. Unfortunately, this field of medicine, like any other in general, as well as the law enforcement system, is not without flaws ‒ random people who got lost in it as a result of apparently insufficiently vigilant and strict selection. And these random people, including in psychiatry, are really dangerous, because they often pursue their own selfish goals. There is no person more dangerous than one who is full of self-interest! Such people often commit official crimes. Oh, if only you could immediately recognize a self-serving and unreliable person. Not everyone is given this, but it becomes clear to whom he got an appointment, having already fallen into the trap-under the white hands straight to the psychiatric hospital.
Have I seen a psychiatrist? Yes, I am registered in a psychiatric clinic with a certain diagnosis, although because of the stigma, not everyone will believe it. But, nevertheless, I am a member and I am observed on an outpatient basis. But, on the other hand, it is clear that I am not of this world, and in all the known senses of this expression: both in the direct and in the figurative. Agree that ordinary people do not say or write about themselves that they are from a parallel world, especially from a Puppet world, like, for example, robots like me.
Yes, I think psychiatrists are dangerous. Not only because of their cruelty and indifference, but because of mass ignorance and unwillingness to improve their skills. A miracle happened before my eyes. My aunt literally went crazy at the age of 83. She threw herself at people. I sent the nurses away. They took her to the hospital, but there she became so physically ill that they quickly took her away. They put me in a paid mental health center. It was better furnished, but it wasn't much use. From there, she was sent by ambulance to a regular hospital, finding an abscess (from injections). They were operated on there and taken to the psychosomatic ward. There were about 80 old men and women lying there, helpless. They were given food, but they couldn't eat it themselves. Yes, they were also quarantined (before covid, just the flu). Five days later, they took her home in extreme dehydration, with terrible bedsores, dying. But then they began to urgently look for the best doctors. IVs, treatment for bedsores, terrible ones, just holes the size of a finger's phalanx. When it got a little better, a wonderful psychiatrist was invited. This is a woman who specializes in gerontological psychiatry. She does not hide her discoveries and successes, publishes articles in medical journals. But! They don't read it!!! She canceled all the medications previously prescribed by psychiatrists, prescribed others. 3.5 years have passed since then. My aunt recovered. Yes, she is weak, we take her for walks in a chair. But he goes around the house, reads books, including children's books aloud – to great-grandchildren. It even works on translations, as before. It's a little hard to make out the handwriting, but it's all right. And official medicine would have sent her to the next world long ago. Since then, I've been thinking about how terrible it is: many old people who supposedly fell into hopeless dementia could have been cured, if not completely. And they would remain beloved, kind grandparents. And after all, these are not the most complex operations that only outstanding surgeons do. Here it is enough for doctors to read new articles on their specialty, try new methods. And in hospitals, at least give old people water to drink and prevent bedsores. After all, a dehydrated person is so weak that they cannot turn around. Here and lies, as laid, hence the bedsores. Sorry for the confusion of the presentation, but this is my pain and grief.
I went to the HDP for help a few years ago.So, the old psychiatrist for some reason asked: “And you probably have an apartment?”The assistant sitting next to him,who was wearing a perhydrol dye, grinned.I mumbled something like,”What's the apartment got to do with it?” and get out of there as soon as possible. They're weird.Maybe they're all crazy over there.
Perhaps… I had a situation where I accidentally found out that the head doctor of a regional hospital tracks young gay men and uses them for himself… I was depressed and didn't want to fall into his clutches at all. My psychiatrist didn't write in the card that I was gay, and the next ones avoided mentioning it. I was lucky not to run into bad psychiatrists. But they are there. If you talk to psychos on a daily basis, you can't help but lose your head. Professional deformity, damn it. No one frees you from it. Neither God, nor the king and not a hero))).
Yes, it is ambiguous! Psychiatrists are arrogant, destructive, evil, terrible, bad, scary; they hate everyone and everything; they are terrible against schizophrenics and psychopaths; they are innocent people. And all people are good, and schizophrenics and psychopaths should be perceived as nice and nice creatures. The whole root of hatred for mentally ill people comes from the mentally healthy themselves! And you need to understand that it is precisely hatred of the mentally ill that applies only to the most primitive cruelty of man! People, let's live together! And all hatred for the mentally ill will disappear!
P.S. I go to a psychiatrist every 2 months, allegedly gave me a false diagnosis (in fact, I am healthy) At the same time, I take terrible pills that do nothing good, only make me tired, depressed and put me to sleep!
If you come to them with a neurosis , they will put you in schizophrenia. And then live with restrictions. Hyperdiagnostics. They don't like to review their diagnoses. Side effects from medications can be worse than the symptoms. Someone helps, someone does not, as luck would have it.
I consider psychiatrists dangerous, because when they communicate with real, real sick patients, they pollinate themselves, that is, they become deviated.
If there is a problem with emotional experiences, it is better to contact a Psychologist or a Psychotherapist. They help you look at the problem from a different angle. I've never met a single patient who's been treated by a psychiatrist.
Any doctor is dangerous if he is incompetent. As for psychiatrists specifically , I applied for medical treatment for postpartum depression, and I am very grateful to the doctor.
They are dangerous to the same extent as doctors of other specialties. It all depends on the qualification of the doctor and his moral qualities as a simple person.
The question is not so simple. The psychiatrist will not harm you unnecessarily. If you are not registered and are not observed in the HDP, then in principle he has no right to do anything to you, except just give advice. He won't give you a shot in the backside, he doesn't have the right to do that. Now, if you are registered once, and registered in a drug dispensary, then your rights are quickly and rapidly melting. In madhouses, there is also arbitrariness on the part of psychiatrists, as well as their habit of disciplining them with chemistry for some misdemeanors. Sometimes small and insignificant. But if you're not in a madhouse right now, you're safe. If something happens to you there, and anything can happen there, then you will not be able to achieve some truth later. everyone in society just doesn't care about those who somehow got burned in psychiatry, as if that world doesn't exist. There are a lot of people who were treated and “healed” in psychiatric institutions. The standard scheme here is something like this. Everything goes on stream. A person comes and says, “I have depression or a disorder, or I'm afraid of something,” and the psychiatrist tells him very politely and amicably at first, ” stay in our hospital. it's very nice there, like a sanatorium, and you'll be fine. And also-take a certain drug, it will make your life much better. Usually, people don't know the underside of this world and the consequences, so they easily agree. After about a month of taking it, you may find that some symptoms seem to increase, while others, on the contrary, are suppressed. Some of the symptoms disappear, but new ones are added. Psychiatrists always deny even the very possibility that antipsychotics or atypical psychotics cause any harm or aggravation of the disease. They always blame everything on you and your diagnosis. But in fact, if a person who feels good is given a month to drink a neuroleptic, he will definitely not be well. It will become at least very sluggish and its efficiency will decrease, and at most, it will behave worse than it did before. This is a double-edged sword. You go to them once, and then you find that it is very difficult to get off the drug and stop taking it, because the quality of your life decreases from taking it for a long time, and the psychiatrist suggests that you increase the dose, saying that you are progressing psychosis. So a lot of people get into this dark world, and from that moment they are almost not in society, but on a dose and with various mental problems. So pschiatrists do some harm to people, this is a fact, since chemical exposure to heavy neuroleptics has a strong effect on the brain. But they won't do you any direct harm, and people are very reserved and often polite.
