Very interesting question. Many people do this, but I absolutely can't do it for myself internally. They build them primarily on some kind of mutual benefit. Maybe that's not a bad thing. But how can you live next to a person you don't love and who will eventually start to annoy you acutely anyway?! When there are feelings, we understand and accept a person for who he is, and when there are no feelings, then you will not have patience.
