Start by reconciling your needs.
It is often very difficult for us to realize that we have a lot of disparate needs. One part of us wants to eat healthy food, the other part wants to eat quickly at McDonald's and not waste time cooking.
We don't like such internal conflicts, they lead to cognitive dissonance. We try to take one of the points in this internal conflict and declare the second one “wrong”. People often put on a white coat and declare a crusade against junk food, or on the contrary ridicule healthy lifestyle and defiantly ignore health problems.
As a result, the other side of the conflict turns into a vindictive and aggressive opposition. Health workers start having eating disorders, fast food adherents suffer from shame.
Instead of taking one point of view in an internal dispute, learn to treat both sides of the internal conflict with respect. Each of your needs has a common sense. If you are constantly stressed, it is difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle; if you eat only fast food, health problems will begin.
Negotiate with yourself, look for an option that suits both sides in the conflict. Over time, you will be able to come to terms with yourself faster and faster, and learn to withstand all your needs. This will be a great base for internal integrity: when you see all your needs and take them into account at the same time.
Dear Igor,
First of all, it is necessary to understand-a person or an individual?
Personality-from the Russian word “disguise”: someone else's, not their own, dressed for themselves.
Personality is “formed” at school, that is, the child is deformed to certain standards.
And then they inspire you: “you must become a person!”
It is better to move towards Individuality, discovering new facets in yourself!
Yuri Mikhailovich Orlov's book “Ascent to Individuality” helped me at one time.
And another useful book is “Sanogenic Thinking”, that is, thinking that gives birth to health. In contrast to pathogenic thinking, which is common for
“a normal person”.
It is pathogenic thinking that leads to the incompleteness of a person.
And one more direction of movement is useful to keep in mind.
In the book “How to become a genius?” Heinrich Altshuller shows how a person is promoted by having a Worthy goal.
The author studied more than 1000 biographies of outstanding people and showed that everyone had such a goal.
There is also a Life Strategy of the creative “personality”, that is, what and how to do to move towards the Goal.
I hope that you have become more clear about both personality and individuality?
All reasonable things!
Igor, it is high time to understand that there are no universal answers. Despite the fact that most people are like two drops of water, approaches to us can be different.
Personality is a set of socially significant qualities that manifest themselves in interaction with other people.
Naturally, each of us needs to develop. Do what you are interested in, be interested in related areas of life and branches of knowledge, make it a rule to pamper yourself every day. Personally, the gnostic-hedonistic scheme of development suits me.
Remember that it is better to develop comprehensively.
from the point of view of philosophy and psychology, to develop a whole personality, you need to pay attention to the development of mental abilities and mental abilities, respectively. But from the point of view of faith, in particular Christianity, a person still has such a component as the spirit, and without developing his spirit, the spiritual side, a person will always be flawed. Well, the development of the spirit without faith and Revelation is impossible, so from my point of view – to develop yourself as a whole person, you need a living faith.
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
