It seems to me that the attitude to money is inherited.
In turn, poverty is often associated with a lack of strategic planning and notorious survival. In other words, such a family may lack investment and financial management skills — how to increase monthly income, for example.
When people live paycheck to paycheck, they don't think about the pretzels of heaven. And this is bad for children, because then they need to learn a lot on their own, avoiding the economic mistakes of their parents as much as possible.
In such families, sometimes there is no concept of pocket money — children are simply given the minimum amount for school breakfast every day, relatively speaking. No excess. It is more competent to give money for a week at once and tell them what can be done with it, teaching them from childhood to responsible spending and thrift.
Unfortunately, without all this, the value of money for the little man… devalued, sorry for the tautology. They do not perceive money as a tool, but they understand that it is bad without it.
The feeling of poverty arises from a combination of a large number of factors, but among them there is definitely a basic inability to manage money.
And wealth is a very stretched category. In wealthy families, the sources of income are different (rent, tenders, black cash, businesses of all sizes, civil service, and so on), and education is heterogeneous-from severe austerity to an overdose of light cash.
No. Neither poverty nor wealth is inherited. You can grow up in a large family and become a capitalist, or you can be the only child of an oligarch and lose everything. It is rather a character that can be inherited. Like in the movie, ” I feel like my second cousin has woken up in me.” The poor and the rich differ only in their attitude to life and money. Nothing else.
A rich person differs from a poor person not in the amount of money, but in psychology. The rich think how they will earn money, and the poor think how they will spend it.
Genetics has little to do with psychology. Not a materialistic “physiological” psychology, but a true one, which is the science of the soul.
If a seasoned materialist is able to think independently, then he will certainly come to the conclusion that newly born children are on completely different starting lines. With its own, in the bud, character, way of thinking, moral inclinations, and so on.
The physiological component, including genetics, casts only a slight shadow on the developing consciousness of the newborn personality.
Therefore, without going into the subtleties of a certain philosophy, we can say that wealth and poverty are not inherited either in the sense in which the question is posed, or in any other sense.
Keep in mind that there are exceptions to any rule…. confirming the rule.
Let us recall the quote of Archimedes: “When a man with money meets a man with experience, a man with experience leaves with money, and a man with money leaves with experience.” For me, it most accurately reflects the essence of poverty and wealth.
If you had rich parents, then if they didn't leave you too much money or a ready-made business, you are more likely to achieve little in life, due to lack of motivation. But if you lived in a poor family, then you will have an incentive to get rich. At least that's how I see the general situation.
In conclusion, I want to say that in most cases the situation alternates, and wealth or poverty will accompany a person through life-this is already a question about character.
99 times out of a hundred, yes! Only it is not poverty that is transmitted, but stupidity, if we are talking about the conflict between poverty and wealth. Rich people are not rich in money, not in bank accounts, they are rich in knowledge, skills to extract money from the gears of civilization. The poor justify their stupidity with a moral way of life and do not want to admit that they are forced to submit to the existing realities in the world. Poverty is stupidity or a completely different way of life, not like the modern one. Stupidity is inherited!
It is not the financial situation itself that is transmitted, although it may have a role in the beginning. The spirit of poverty/wealth, the feeling of a loser or lucky person, the mindset and thinking, the mentality of the family are transmitted.
Everyone is an incredible world. We build ourselves out of books, movies, and society. Yes, parents certainly influence us, but they can give us a good example or a bad one, which we decide not to build on. There are many films and situations in life where a child from a family with decent capital chooses the life of a traveling musician. I do not dispute that there is a lot of romanticism. But this does not change the fact that this can happen.
It is not poverty or wealth itself that is transmitted, but attitudes about money. Children very much “absorb” the attitudes of their parents and other people around them to money and everything else. At the same time, children do not have critical thinking, they do not understand what is bad or good. They just copy the relation. Sometimes even a phrase accidentally thrown in the heart can determine the child's future relationship with money: the situation itself will be forgotten, but the conclusion from it will remain in the subconscious. And the more often parents “broadcast” some negative attitude to money through various sayings and sayings (“You can't earn a lot of money by honest work, “” All the rich are thieves and scoundrels,” “You didn't live beautifully – there's nothing to start with”), the faster the child begins to think the same way. And negative attitudes in the future can become the very stopper that will force a person to make wrong financial decisions (constantly take out loans, do not keep a budget, spend money without looking).
The good news is that anyone can change their existing settings. It will not be easy, you may even need the help of a psychologist or psychotherapist, but if the person works on it, it will work.
Therefore, only you and I are responsible for whether we are rich or poor, and not our heredity and our parents.
A lot depends on what family a person is born into.
If you were born into a working-class family, then you will have working jokes, working conversations, working reflections around you from childhood.
If you were born in the family of the rector of the university. You would be gaining your wits in the company of professors with their smart conversations and conversations, and SO on. Of course there are exceptions but they do not happen so often.
It is much easier for a guy from a rich family to get out into the world than for a guy from a poor family. That is, in order to achieve the same result, they must make a different amount of effort for this. A guy from a poor family should put in three to four times as much effort.
Perhaps that is why in history almost all famous businessmen, the founders of their business dynasties, were from poor families. Because they have a lot of willpower.
So we can say that in this matter, it very much depends on the “conditions” in which a new individual starts and matures on the planet Earth. Imho
Now there are big problems with social elevators – they mostly get to work because of fraud. starting your own business from scratch is easier for the “golden child”, because they will be financially supported. It happens that the rich become poor and vice versa, but this is more rare than a real possibility. This is also because the poor parent will warn the child: “Do not go anywhere again, do not take serious responsibility. When you quit your job and you're going to sit on our necks , just sit in your swamp and don't push around.” A person born with a golden spoon in his mouth has an example of a parent who “achieved”. It will go the already well-trodden path.
