Nietzsche suffered from epilepsy. I saw the flash of a whip, thought about something of my own, stared – and frequent rhythmic movements can activate excitable areas of the brain (therefore, visiting a disco with light music is dangerous for epileptics). Which is exactly what happened. Nietzsche had a violent seizure (perhaps imperceptible on the surface – this also happens). Then the genius began to cry ,and then to speak (and then write) in fragmentary phrases, which is very clearly seen in “Ecce Homo”. Then he finally lost his mind and died.
