In short: ten thousand years ago, when the glaciers of North America descended, stickleback sea fish settled in Canadian lakes. In some lakes, fish have changed a lot relative to their ancestors. But in the nineties, a new species of crayfish was launched into one of the lakes, which influenced the nesting and breeding methods of bottom sticklebacks, and they met their lost brothers and sisters living in the water column.
