Not all people, but only a part of them;
This is a game. You can do everything “make-believe”. And at the same time, the emotions are almost real. As a result, you can break away emotionally in full, and you will not get anything for it, neither from society as a whole, nor from specific people, nor even from yourself (in the form of reproaches of conscience);
There is an opportunity to drain the excess of aggression that inevitably accumulates as a result of our difficult life.
Watching violence from a safe distance is fun. The gladiatorial battles of ancient Rome, public executions, books and stories about war, paintings depicting the death of people, horror films and action movies, video games with scenes of violence, touch the same strings inside us. Looking at the fact that at this moment someone is worse off than you is nothing more than flirting with a deep instinct of self-preservation. Video games are a product of modern technologies, which makes it possible not just to watch, but to participate and influence, which makes a video game the most powerful form of escapism (escape from reality).
a person has a sense of justice embedded deep inside, and when he is in a world where almost one injustice occurs-such as “Cognitive dissonance” and perhaps in such a rather strange way( way) a person “tries” to somehow balance this discrepancy. In fact, this tough game can be a kind of revenge, retribution, the release of this accumulated energy, a kind of” sublimation ” that comes out in this way. In general, the topic is terribly interesting ( to look for roots), there is even a science that studies the influence and connection of two completely different and seemingly distant processes, worlds, and spheres. I, in turn, have always been interested in one such phenomenon – I have seen a lot of people who by their nature were almost mama's sons. calm, reasonable, balanced, etc. and at the same time adoring heavy metal and similar forms of radical rock.
These are all common stereotypes.Constantly, every day, many parents teach their children, and even forbid them to play games with violence.And why?Yes!Again, stereotypes.It's just that there's a lot of talk about it on TV right now.Who watch TV?Right!Most of them are quite grown-up people.They believe it all.This is “stuck” in the head and by default they talk about it.Okay.And if a person is not a child and he plays?Yes, you will say he is of legal age and can afford whatever he wants(within reason).No.There is another reason.He understands that these games will not harm him, just as the children think.Hence the output:it is necessary to prohibit games with an increased degree of violence for mentally ill people.Quite healthy – you can, but still do not abuse it.And I forgot to fill it in.Love – because they want to get a dose of adrenaline.
After being in this state for four years, I decided to start analyzing this one recently… dependence. Yes, that's right. During the analysis, it turned out that in my life there was not enough communication with my parents and friends, which produced an alienation effect on me, as a result of which, knowing that the real world is boring (“there is no one to communicate with, how sad”, “what should I do?”), I decided to sit down at the computer and go somewhere “bright”. I wanted something fresh and new, and games are a suitable solution to self-withdrawal, BUT only for a while, because games can't last forever, and you need to be able to take responsibility for yourself and your loved ones. Only a change of circumstances (the same change of place of study) significantly affected me. I became more sociable and independent. There was a driving force pushing me forward. Such a thing.
Perhaps this is due to the fact that each of us has an internal aggression that we vent out playing violent video games.

I think no one will dispute the fact that we are animals. During the day, we are stressed, we fight with our own kind over small things or big things, often our bosses “bite” us for not working hard enough (most often this is done just to raise our tone, and not because of some real mistake), and they themselves are bitten even harder by the general ones. Even in a friendly environment, light”f * * k” is just a way to playfully bite each other, as if to tinker with fellow tribesmen in the mud. We are constantly dealing with a social hierarchy where someone is biting someone, and in most cases we are not aware of this at all. It seems, well, what's the big deal – everything is OK, and it's actually OK-these are the realities of interpersonal relationships.
So, a person is not harmless. Any person who does not break down under circumstances, especially a man (every man is a warrior at heart, once ready to protect his tribe for a long time by piercing the skin of living enemies, when if not you, then, alas, you) has a certain amount of aggression that accumulates during the day and needs to be drained somewhere. I'm not a psychologist and just judge by myself and others. Even the most peaceful men sometimes like to watch treshak or, even better, let someone virtual blood, after which they make cute jokes on everyday topics and chat with children. If this possibility did not exist, the accumulated aggression would be directed either at oneself (in the form of drunkenness, for example, or another method of self – destruction), or at others, which would eventually lead to a breakdown.
Women are a different story. I'm not a sexist person, I just happen to be. Sometimes aggression also accumulates in women, but usually this happens pointwise and quickly passes or is realized right there, on the spot, when the madam throws a tantrum at work “you don't love me and don't appreciate me!” or drives a coworker to a bitch behind her back, or any other “female” (I write this specifically in quotation marks, because men often do not disdain women's ways) a way to stand up for yourself. This is not enough for men, and on the other hand, men are forced to obey the hierarchy more clearly at work.
What is “excess violence”?
If we talk about the possibility of cruelty, then it is easily born out of a sense of justice. For example, in Fallout 4, I had a favorite revolver “Justice “for the righteous shooting of the heads of particularly nasty types, but this was a response to their behavior. Ie if the game did not give me the opportunity to kill particularly bad guys” with taste”, I would feel dissatisfied with the establishment of justice.
If we talk about the possibility of killing women and even children, then such violence, on the contrary, creates a lot of additional moral questions. For example, in Fallout 2, there was a quest to kill a character with a large family and a bunch of children and in the event of a massacre they die, and in the same Fallout 4, unarmed people die during shootouts and this is an argument against the use of excessive violence. In a sterile world where there is no pain and suffering, there is no point in curbing violence. A classic example here is RTS, where the goal always justifies the means and you can safely drop nuclear bombs on cities, because it will not give any consequences other than the destruction of enemy forces.
Because homo sapiens is not used to killing. It's our way of surviving, it's what helped us win the evolutionary race. In fact, there is no taboo on murder, there are only legal restrictions. It's like a habit-it triggers the release of endorphins and so on. Our morals are still an infant compared to this “habit”.
Well, since it's no longer necessary to kill to survive, and it's also illegal, people sublimate. Hence the popularity of works of fiction in the style of horror, thriller, as well as programs about crime;) .
Because modern people live in conditions of almost absolute security. Only accidents that we can't always predict can pose a threat. And the body still produces adrenaline, it needs to be “burned”. Actually, games with an excess of violence are excellent simulators of danger, so necessary for our body.
Because the accumulated stress in life is looking for a way out, and this is one of the easiest ways to safely let off steam and satisfy your need for dominance. And it is safe both for yourself and for others.
