  1. There's a thing called agoraphobia. This is the fear of being in a place where there is a large number of people (crowds). For some people, this is a real problem, because being in a crowd is not exactly uncomfortable, but simply terrifying. Some people have panic attacks, and the person almost loses adequate perception of their surroundings. This phobia is treated by a psychiatrist / psychotherapist, and not always successfully.

In addition, there are now quite a few people with autistic personality traits (please do not confuse with autism, this is different, just a character trait). They painfully tolerate shortening the distance, other people's touches, smells, and flashing before their eyes. Such people also experience great discomfort in the crowd.

Well, in general, “uncomfortable” is the feeling with which a lot of people relate to the crowd. At the same time, they endure their stay in it, although without much enthusiasm, but generally calmly; and sometimes (heat, bad mood or well – being, a big holiday and a lot of drunks, etc.) – with great difficulty. There is a saying about the crowd: “A crowd has many heads, but few minds.” Obviously, many people unconsciously understand this, and therefore treat crowds of people with caution and distrust.

  2. I feel uncomfortable in a crowd, when this crowd tries to interact with me – when people on public transport touch me, when they try to talk to me on the street. I am disgusted and sickened by this, and therefore I do not go to such contacts. I regard this as a violation of my personal space, which I value, and I want other people to respect it, as I do without touching anyone.

  3. The crowd is a BEAST. It can crush and not even notice, it is controlled from above, so it does not know what it is doing. It's okay to be afraid of the crowd. The crowd is the perfect killer, roaring, buzzing, and channeling its power with impunity. And when you're alone, either she'll take you in her arms to suck your power out for good purposes, or she'll crush you. It's best to avoid crowds

  4. Yes, everything is correct. The crowd is a dangerous and unpredictable environment. And life itself is full of dangers. Why make this danger even worse? In his youth, he liked to attend mass events. Now for me, a dozen people are already a crowd. Age and negative experiences have done their job.

  5. Because they have negative experience or knowledge about how dangerous a person can be, absolutely anyone and in any conditions. The larger the crowd of people, the more likely it is that there will be a maniac, terrorist, madman, and other criminal elements ready to start acting at any moment. They can rob you, scare you, hurt you, do anything you want, and there is no way to prepare for it, because you don't know where it will come from or where it will happen. Even moving through a dark alley at night, a person is more prepared to face a hypothetical danger – he looks around and back, keeps pepper spray ready, and is careful in every possible way. And standing in a crowd, it is never possible to guess from which direction an improvised explosive device will fly or which of all these people will take out a machine gun and start shooting at the crowd. In addition, large concentrations of people are already extremely attractive to terrorists.

  6. You'll feel comfortable around your friends, right?
Therefore, the cause of unpleasant feelings is due to not knowing those around you at a given time – and rightly so:what if they are inadequate or contagious?

  7. I myself am such a person, I am afraid of crowds, unnecessary attention. Well, I don't need it all, it's not my thing.
But, in our time, without performances, promotion is nowhere, so sometimes you have to overcome the fear of the crowd and do your job)
