Pantheism is an independent religious and philosophical trend. Yes, at the end of the Middle Ages, during the Renaissance and early Modern times, philosophers often dressed up in the togas of pantheism and deism to cover up their atheistic views. But pantheism still existed in the ancient tradition and continued to exist after there was no need to cover up atheism. Just 6 years ago, the Pope issued another message criticizing pantheism means the smoking room is alive:)
Pantheism is different. There are directions in it that claim that everything we see is God, whom we recognize as a physical reality. There are others who say that every particle of matter consists of some divine substance or has an invisible connection with the transcendent creator God. There are also those who give personal divine characteristics to the entire universe.
In my opinion, people who follow such a worldview are just trying to sit on two chairs, as they say. On the one hand, for some superstitious reason, they are afraid to reject God, and on the other, they do not want to consistently adhere to the postulates of any particular religion. And in this sense, yes – pantheism looks like “embellished” atheism. In any case, from the point of view of Christianity.
