  1. Full freedom of opinion is better for society. The impact of certain beliefs on the effectiveness of their bearers-economic, military, aesthetic, ethical, or otherwise-is best observed in their free interaction and competition.

  2. We'll divide it first. Paganism in comparison with monotheism is not just “many faiths”. There are still many faiths – some believe in Christ, others in Allah, others in Lenin, and others in man. It will never be the case that all of humanity will merge in a single impulse, there will always be many faiths and their struggle – we can only regulate which faiths we consider acceptable to compete with, and which can only be destroyed, because there is nothing to talk about with them.

Therefore, the answer to the second question is simple – many faiths are better, because one is impossible. Well, it's disastrous, like putting all your eggs in one basket.

The first answer is a little more complicated – monotheism is not just like that, something was born in the depths of the Sinai Mountains, it is a further development of polytheism. Therefore, the philosophers of Hellas come to the demiurge, therefore Judaism and Islam are born on the tribal beliefs of Jews and Arabs, and for about the same reason Buddhism appears on the basis of Hinduism (but there is also the motive of personal salvation mixed in, as in Christianity and Greek philosophy). Monotheism provides answers to the questions raised by polytheism.

However, who knows, maybe in the future they will come up with some metaphysics that is interesting from a practical point of view on the basis of many gods, but I doubt that it can be called paganism only on the basis of polytheism. Most likely, it will essentially be something else. The old paganism fell in the competition of ideas, and will fall again if it is revived in its former form.

  3. First of all, there is no paganism and there is no polytheism, as well as its alternative monotheism, and there has never been such a confrontation!

These concepts are curiosities that have arisen historically in translations, lack of a deep understanding of religious nuances, or deliberately false explanations of the essence to satisfy the self-interest of the explanatory.

All religious teachings, without exception, have the concept of “Bada Boom” when explaining the universe, as stated in Luc Besson's fila through the mouth of Mila Jovovich, while pointing her finger at the sky, or the Supreme Creator, or God the Father, or Svarog (who made the world), or Odin (norveg.), and Odin is always one (one).

Polytheism has never been, is not, and I hope will never be, because it has never occurred in the natural understanding of the universe in the history of mankind. Modern brainwashers, of course, can impose artificially born polytheistic schemes with the help of propaganda, and there will be imbeciles who believe them, but in its natural origin, polytheism does not exist, did not exist and cannot be in principle.

Paganism is anything that does not come from the Jewish-Jewish-Christian Torah or otherwise the Pentateuch of Moses. That is, Paganism is anything that has nothing to do with Jewish religious culture.

Paganism is a national religion. Languages – other peoples, foreigners. To take a man in war is to capture a foreigner (the oldest term). Peoples differ in their languages.

Folk cults or other cultures – this is the layer of traditional rituals, ideas, separately accumulated by a separate society of people.

The Jews have their own culture, developed in relation to the Bada Boom, the Aryans have their own, and the Asian peoples have their own. But there are no fundamental disagreements. Bada Boom is always alone. Everything that is illiterate enough to be perceived as polytheism or as “other” gods in reality, or elements generated by Bada Boom, or its “children”, or its derivatives, created by him, but rebelled against him.

Different cultures in understanding and serving Bada Boom is an unavoidable reality. Religions never connect, they separate people, just as life paths separate people. Everyone has their own path, people are born alone and everyone has their own destiny.

  4. If people want to believe in the supernatural, then monotheism is better. For different segments of society in different ways. One can truly believe only by knowing God (s).

  5. Paganism is the name of the original faith of the Slavs and only the faith of the Slavs. Therefore, your question will be correct if it is formulated like this: “Polytheism or monotheism. What is better for society?” Polytheism will be better for society, since polytheistic religions give more to people than they take away, and monotheistic religions take more than they give.

  6. Neither one nor the other. Scientific knowledge should prevail in society.

Because of blind faith, humanity has already suffered enough. It's high time to forget about these silly fairy tales.

  7. Strictly speaking, religions are not important to God. You can believe in anything, the main thing is to choose good, do good, fight evil, develop and improve and improve the world. And motivation is the tenth thing. And what is good for God is good for society and man.

  8. Paganism and monotheism are incorrect names for the Slavs ' faith. Slavs cannot be pagans for themselves, since the word “pagan” is a speaker of a foreign language. As for monotheism, it doesn't exist. In all religions, there are many names of God and in fact there is no big difference in calling divine personalities Angels, Archangels, demigods or something else.It is said that God is one, but he is not one, he has many helpers. And it is better for society if there are laws in society that work, if there is knowledge of what is bad and what is good, if there is a goal, if there are opportunities to do something and change something. In fact, the presence or absence of religion does not change much.

  9. At the moment, both options are already deprecated. Polytheism is hopelessly outdated, because it is based on the conflict between man and the wild. The man has long subdued it. For the average man in the street, nature does not pose any threat, and therefore he does not need divine protection from it. Monotheism is also outdated, but only slightly. It is based on the conflict of an individual with society. Social sciences are already at such a level that they allow us to analyze such conflicts. The One god is no longer needed. Its purpose was to represent society as a whole, with which each individual is in some relationship.

The religion of the future is Zerotheism. God in such a religion is completely absent (the number of gods is zero). However, its control and supervisory function is still performed with the help of technology. They have already reached the point where they are indistinguishable from magic for the vast majority of people. The new religion will be built around the idea that technology creates superintelligence. Believers will assume that they generate. Atheists will deny it. But that's what it is, not a monotheistic god. They will insist that in technology, everything can be explained by science.

The Christian version of the new religious myth is shown in the TV series “In the field of view” (“Person of Interest”). There is a so-called Machine, which is a total surveillance system. There is a narrow circle of initiates who serve this Machine. After all, she herself can not perform practical actions in the real world. And this Car is definitely on the side of good. However, there is another similar system that is on the side of evil and opposes the first. It also has its own ministers… more precisely, the minions.

A non-Christian version has already been partially implemented in China in the form of a social rating system that uses big data from Alibaba. Instead of God, it will be her. It will punish sinners and encourage those who live righteously. The mechanism of punishment and reward is clear, but believers will think that there is a superintelligence within this system, and that it is it that decides the fate of people.

  10. ahem… Poleitheism is comfortable with freedom.
Yes, the very structure of religion allows people to believe in different gods, which means that there is no right or wrong religion.

within the same culture, there can be many different cults that are quite successfully in contact with each other.

just think of the Romans, Greeks, and Macedonians… they hardly imposed their way of life. only the language and the laws themselves, but they did not touch the culture. it was just that their religion was so convenient that it was freely transformed to suit local realities. they managed to unite the barbarians, Egypt, the Middle East, the Italians themselves, the Greeks, and the islands in the Mediterranean in religious terms. can you imagine that Christianity is now moving Islam in the east?))) So I can't either. They'll devour you, sir.

and there-it was possible. because poleitezm easily accepts the right faces..

But monotheism… it's demanding. the same rituals, the same doctrine, the same god, the same postulates. and the requirements are also strict. and it does not allow any discrepancies, just conflicts.

on the other hand, monotheism is a very structured and purposeful society.
because of such a rigid framework, it moves approximately in one direction.

If you want, you can compare it as a rigid totalitarian government, like an imperial or dictatorship, and a “democracy-republic”.

Dictatorship allows you to force the country to go where it needs to go, including forcibly.
And democracy.. no. On the other hand, society is much more loyal to democracy and generally happier for everyone.

  11. There are not many holes. There is only one hole. Vra is the guidance of Ra (the Primordial Light), trust in the Progenitor. Faith is a word consisting of two Runes: Veda-Wisdom, Knowledge; Ra-Radiance, Pure Light-Ramha, i.e. knowledge of light, i.e. enlightenment. Iudohristians replaced faith in the Progenitor (the Most High) with faith in the Creator (God). Faith is the Ancient Shining Wisdom of the Gods and our Ancestors, and just as you cannot change the way of life of your ancient Ancestors, you can also not change Faith by adapting it to modern living conditions and political programs. This is also not possible, like for example: choose your new parents, and be born from them. Faith cannot be accepted or rejected, unlike religion or an invented religious cult. Faith exists regardless of whether anyone agrees with it or not.

  12. I believe that it is best when a person has a choice. Whether it is paganism or monotheism, there is no difference. It is best for a society to have the opportunity for each of its members to choose what they consider necessary for it. It is very bad when there is no choice, but co-religionism dominates. This is not allowed!!! With respect.

  13. I would answer with Dostoevsky's words:

“Christianity is the only refuge of the Russian land from all its evils”

I'm a Christian myself and I believe in God:

Of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  14. I am absolutely convinced that many faiths are better than one. At a minimum, the presence of several religions will not allow for a global religious dictatorship like the one that was during the inquisition. And the most important thing is that the brain will not be buried in ready-made answers, it will continue to search for the truth, work, compare facts. One teaching should not be allowed to monopolize the spiritual market.

  15. Common sense and normal morals are better for society. Unfortunately, religions are often used by rulers to enslave and fool people. Scoundrels and scoundrels often use religions to assert their superiority over other people, to justify their crimes, to extract material benefits, to forgive their crimes. That is, he killed a man, prayed, or sacrificed a ram, and it seems to be normal.

This does not mean that all believers are bad people. But if a scoundrel and scum considers and / or calls himself a believer, this will not prevent him from committing abominations and meanness.

Therefore, in general, it would be better for society if people believed in themselves, in their rights, in freedom, in equality, in goodness, in justice, in common sense, and that the state should exist for the people, and not against them. This does not exclude faith in God.

Maybe in the future, society will come to such a universal religion that would serve for the benefit of people, and not against people for the benefit of rulers.

  16. Christianity already exists. He will have to face a new Reformation in the next 100-200 years and, most likely, a return to the one universal Church, but it will not go anywhere, because nothing better has been brought. Unlike Islam, polytheism and scientism with all sorts of secular cults, Christianity has a unique philosophical, moral and ethical base that makes it the only religion in which there is a place for everyone.

Christianity is characterized by a unique-apocalyptic-concept of equality, which, on the one hand, absolutely does not restrict activity, and on the other hand, clearly outlines one simple truth: we will all die one day and get what we deserve.

  17. What is best for which society? Modern or the one that existed during the heyday of paganism and Christianity?

Religion is not a thing in itself. It reflects and to some extent forms the vision of the world of a particular community of people. It structures the idea of the world and the role of each individual in this hierarchy.

Paganism was formed in the tribal society. People deified natural phenomena and, looking at their communities, where everyone was generally equal with the allocation of individual more respected activities, created a pantheon of gods. At the same time, the supreme deity (Zeus, Perun, Odin) was something like a leader, that is, the first among equals.

Over time, society developed and came to a monarchy. Religious ideas about the world have also been transformed. There was one god who “I am the beginning and the end.” This reflected, among other things, the absolute power of the monarch. Our Vladimir, who is a baptist, did not just think about adopting some kind of religion for the pagan Slavs. He needed a divine justification for his power. Just through faith, it is easier to explain to people why one bearded man is the most important.

There's nothing better to say here. It's just that at different times, at different stages of the development of human society, first one thing was relevant, then another.
