This question has already been answered here for about a month or two, but I'm afraid I can't provide a link. The bottom line is that the Faculty of Philosophy provides in many ways a fundamental education that teaches you to think, reason, build logical chains, analyze, and process information. Many people go into business and politics after completing their studies and reach considerable heights there due to their general erudition and all of the above.
Oh, it's complicated. I know one, a historian of philosophy, now a rock musician.
