It depends on how to perceive the concept of immortality. I see two options: the possibility of not dying from diseases and aging (but at the same time, vulnerability to death from murder/suicide) or the inability to die at all.
As part of the first look, I would name one more scenario. “Society of rich grandparents”. If we assume that in this society there is private property and the amount of this property is to some extent directly proportional to the amount of time spent on earning it, then a certain circle of immortal people who were born earlier will have the opportunity to earn a fortune of such a critical size that it will be a structural obstacle to the normal operation of social elevators in the so-called “younger generation”.
Suppose that an immortal society does not initially know that it is immortal. That is, it lives according to the laws of the mortal, it lives for a century, it lives for two, social relations are developing, and some technical progress is taking place.
At some point, society begins to think that for two centuries the population has not changed, no one dies, but new representatives are born. The understanding of immortality forces them to stop wars, destroys the class system, the entire structure of society collapses, due to the fact that everyone is equal, because no one poses any threat to others.
Another century passes, and the small island that the society of immortals occupies becomes too small for them, they have to urgently build ships and go in search of new lands in order to create cities for the settlement of some of the inhabitants. At this moment, the society of immortals first encounters the only resource that is valuable to them – earth, but no one can seize it, for obvious reasons.
After another hundred years, the earth becomes very much, the whole planet is studied, you can relax. Since no one dies, it becomes a given, you don't have to do anything, you can relax. People live and work only to have fun. A century live, two live, three, and now they reach such a level of technology when there is nothing to do, robots build themselves and satisfy their creators. This is the sunset of an immortal society.
People stop doing any activity, making enjoyment their leading activity. So they live for several thousand more years. During this time, they gain enough mass to fill the entire planet.
Once again, the immortals are getting cramped!
They return to the forgotten occupation of creating new technologies, in order to develop spaceships that will study the surrounding planets for their suitability for life, this will be the rebirth of the immortal society. They will spend several centuries exploring the nearest space, during which time they will have to build many orbital stations, which will temporarily house some people.
However, this will be a serious lesson for immortal people, and all the remaining time (that is, infinity) they will devote to exploring the cosmos and finding new planets on which to live, as on their home planet, because they are immortal, but not all-powerful.
Alternative scenario.
The immortal society doesn't have the ability to reproduce. In this case, most likely, it will not wake up after the “sunset”.
