I'm afraid to lie.. I read somewhere that when the first Dalai Lama died , he bequeathed to the monks that he would return and say a certain phrase. After ~5-7 years, a boy came to one of the witnesses of the Lama's death with exactly the same phrase word for word.
Somewhere I met information that the current Dalai Lama is the nth reincarnation of his First One.
Believe it or not – everyone's business, but, of course, I want to hope for the best
