  1. Each individual can make a unique contribution to social and cultural life. To do this, it is important to take a comprehensive look at where you are now and where you can move.

    To determine what kind of contribution you can make, I recommend performing an integral AQAL analysis. AQAL is an integral model developed by the thinker Ken Wilber and applied to all aspects of life. “Integral” means “integral”.

    For simplicity, you can use one of the elements of the AQAL model-quadrants. Quadrants — basic fundamental perspectives (points of view) on an event or on life in general.

    There are four facets of our life:

    • (internal subjective boundary)I am a quadrant : my consciousness, mental states, values, beliefs, etc.
    • (internal intersubjective boundary)We are a quadrant : our culture, interpersonal relationships, intersubjectivity, etc.
    • (external objective boundary)It is a quadrant : brain, psychophysiology, behavior, body, etc.
    • (external interobjective border)They are a quadrant : social systems, economics, ecology, etc.

    Figure 1. Illustration from the book “The Practice of Integral Living” by Ken Wilber, Terry Patten et al.

    Accordingly, ALL disciplines of human activity work with one of the quadrants (sometimes with two, but rarely with all four).

    • I am the quadrant: psychology, spirituality, mindfulness, meditation, states of consciousness, psychology of child and adult development, etc.
    • We are the quadrant: cultural anthropology, family psychology, interpersonal communication, etc.
    • It is a quadrant: neurophysiology, behavioral approaches, biomedicine, physics, biology, etc.
    • They are a quadrant: economics, sociology, labor organization, ecology, systems and complexity theory, self-organization theory, etc.

    A simple and clear introduction to the integral approach can be found in Ken Wilber's Integral Vision, Theory of Everything, or Integral Spirituality (first chapter). You can also read the book “A Brief History of Everything”. The last two books were published by the publishing house “Mann, Ivanov and Ferber”.

    See your current position in each of the quadrants (see also Fig. 1):

    1) what values do you have and what states of consciousness do you want to develop in yourself (I-quadrant);

    2) What pragmatic actions can you take in the world (It-quadrant);

    3) what kind of people and how you want to spend time and work (We are a quadrant);

    4) what physical spaces, social institutions you want to participate in, and what financial position you want to have (These are the quadrant).

    Accordingly, evaluate your current position, the area of immediate development (where you can realistically start going from your current point), and the area of further, long-term development (where you would like to be in a decade or two).

    Now an important point: whatever you do in these 4 areas, the most important thing is to do it conscientiously, from the bottom of your heart. ALL disciplines and fields of activity are necessary for society.

    Follow your heart's desire, learn to do it well, and balance the four quadrants (internal states, external behavior, interpersonal cultural co-presence, and participation in social institutions, organizations, and communities), and then you will find your own unique way to manifest yourself in life for a century of life.

    1. Find a community that deals with separate garbage collection. And help him, attract new people there. Save resources and gradually eliminate paper and plastic bags. Hand over your used batteries, light bulbs, and thermometers for recycling.

    2. Become a citizen scientist, for example, through distributed computing, provide computer downtime for various scientific projects. Keep a blog that tells popular stories about science, or simply encourage others to adopt a science-critical worldview through calm, cultural conversations without getting personal.

    3. Do not interfere with the life of others, develop a culture of nonviolence and tolerance for all living and inanimate things. But this does not mean inaction to the aggressor, self-defense is necessary, it is the basis of life.

    4. Become a master in your business, which you like. Yes, earnings are small at first, but there is a lot of fun and benefits. Promote your activity and explain how to make it better.

    5. Do not force yourself, otherwise you will quickly burn out mentally along with your hobbies. Do everything for fun and do not forget to relax. Throw out the “get up at five in the morning, learn six languages, start three startups” philosophy. Don't listen to others when they say “why do you need this?” — people are by nature critical, especially people of our mentality. Good is done right ahead and in spite of everything.

    6. Leave constructive feedback and, where appropriate, complaints. Such measures improve any product, company, or community.

    Good luck.

  2. Take a look at series 1 of the season 1 of Adam ruins everything (on Youtube) 10:33 (And best of all the series look, and luuuuke entire series. I highly recommend it. Definitely goodnot!)

    I will assume that you will spend 60 years of your life (from 20 to 80). It's more realistic this way.

    I see 2 main options:

    1-do something yourself, as already advised by Theo Decker, Undertaker and Nikolai Levitsky.

    2-Help with money. There is also a fork in the road for 2 options:

    1) You can take a part of your salary for something that you think is useful to society, for example: (to foundations that are looking for all sorts of medicines for terrible diseases; to all non-profit organizations; to domestic industrial companies, but to whatever you want.) If you unfasten at least 1,000 rubles a month, then for 60 years you will accumulate 720,000 rubles, for 100 years-1,200,000 rubles. If more, it will be many times more.

    2) Capital. Tuuuut is much more interesting. The simplest thing is not just to give your salary, but to invest it in a real business, and to reinvest the income, thus multiplying your capital. Any investment in a business is somehow reduced to receiving securities confirming ownership of a part of the enterprise, so: purchase of shares, bonds, a document on direct purchase of a part of the enterprise, and everything else that is associated with the acquisition of a part of a real profitable enterprise.

    See, with a rational investment, it is quite possible to get a net profit of 10% per annum. If you reinvest, then compound interest comes into play. If you save again 1,000 rubles a month, then over 60 years you will get 40 million rubles, then see the statistics for the years below.

    After 18 years, the investment of your hard-earned money will be less than 20% of the net profit from capital, after 25-less than 10%, after 32 years-less than 5%, after 48 years-less than 1%.

    In general, I, of course, simplify a little, but not very much. Collect capital, and then bequeath where to invest it. And yes, it makes more sense than just procrastinating. It's more efficient this way. Non-profit organizations themselves, as far as I know, do not really try to multiply their funds, although as you can see, this is much more effective. But it takes time, some knowledge, nerves and experience. However, it is worth it.

  3. Let's start with the fact that 100 years of “working” on something is unrealistic, let's take 30 years if a person is not a scientist, but let's say an ordinary worker. An ordinary worker, first of all, can carry a culture that society really needs. They can invest part of their” PO ” in scientific projects, thereby promoting science. Yes, in 30 years you can become a scientist, and promote science yourself. There would be motivation… The society has a lot of requests, and it is impossible to do everything even in 100 years.The interests of society are dynamic, and it is difficult to say what people will need in 20 years.In general, you can just contribute to the development of society, do your job, the doctor treats, etc.

  4. You can, for example, systematically perform a number of actions to preserve wildlife, for which descendants will definitely say thank you, although, of course, it is unlikely that the influence of one individual person will be so noticeable

    You can transfer old ladies across the roads, support orphanages with coins, and pull people out of the fire

    You can run your own website dedicated to sex education, write books or make films that will inspire positive emotions in people, motivate them to be better, join volunteers or dance on the street, giving people a smile as they pass by

    You can become a good teacher at a good university, you can become a test subject, you can just be a well-mannered person

    A lot of things can be done, in fact

    But this is provided that “benefit to society” is an end in itself, if it is only a tool with which you want to write your name in history, then I will quote the well – known old woman Shapoklyak: “Who helps people-he wastes time in vain. You can't be famous for good deeds”)

    Just find something you like to do, and the rest will follow.
